She saw this coming--had told the guards, who took her to the general in charge of this Navy port. They all KNEW what she could SEE, how she used this special sight of hers to gaze far beyond the horizon and chart the lands and seas and everything in between.
This is one of the most fortified ports in the Seven Seas! Let those pirates come! All that awaits them here is their watery grave!
Now, Nona Nadini was an incredible asset to the Navy, and they treated her well enough--gave her room and board, and all the time in the world--the only thing they asked in return was the use of her sight, and her maps. Especially her maps--SHE was the sole reason how the Navy always got the best up-to-date maps before any other charter could ever draw up. It was no wonder why they’d put her in one of their most well-guarded ports.

Now if only that hoity-toity general had listened to her, then she wouldn’t be scrambling all over her room trying to salvage what she can before...before they got here. Who, she didn’t quite know, but they were PIRATES. She’s heard the stories.
The cannonfire outside rang in her ears. It wouldn’t be long before OTHER pirates got wind of what was going on, and then SWARMED the place looking for their share of supplies and gold--
There was--the guards. She heard them shouting outside, and then--and then their bodies hitting the floor. Her red eyes widened in fear before she grabbed her trusty whip Karma, pointing it at the door which was sure to be broken into at any moment. Her other arm was holding together a bag of her scrying materials and the most important maps she has.
“Back! Stay BACK!”
