did gul ocett effectively utilise girl power when she joined the cardassian military and tried to sabotage the enterprise? no. but i do appreciate that they a) let her wear a normal uniform and b) let her be just as much of a sneaky bastard as any male cardassian antagonist without making a big deal about her gender. even if they did give her those dumb pigtails
i really wish we could have seen her again outside of that one tng episode though, ESPECIALLY considering the really cool stuff the books do with her? to quote memory alpha:
In Andrew Robinson’s DS9 novel A Stitch in Time, it is mentioned that Ocett was a cell leader in Damar’s resistance, and the only such leader to survive. Her actions were also critical to the outcome of the Dominion War, convincing the Cardassian Fleet to turn against the Jem’Hadar.
like she ends up being a resistance leader! thats so awesome! it would’ve been so cool to have actually seen that in the show..... yeah i just think she’s a neat character conceptually and i would’ve loved it if she had shown up again, in tng maybe but especially in ds9
