Mondays were the absolute worst. Even though Ivris didn’t have a job in the city yet, the general attitude in the air made Ivris always feel depressed on Mondays. There were always sunken faces of people who had to go to work, school, or just the week’s stressful endeavors.
Sitting on a park bench, sipping at her coffee as she watched others go by, something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. It was a young girl, couldn’t have been older than her mid teens, helping out a young child. Noble actions, especially these small ones, were a rarity in the city, and Ivris couldn’t help but smile.
As the girl started to go by, Ivris spoke softly, yet loud enough for the girl to hear. “That was quite a sweet thing you did. I admire people like you.”
