ok, on rewatch: simon iron lung? so/sx 8w9. it's hard to tell a) because he's the countertype and 2)
it's not just because i myself am an enneagram type 8, but i really think type 8 is the most regressor-coded/regressable enneagram type. it's like, textbook. big strong gal/enby/guy who acts so scary and tough, keeping those spiky walls up to protect their soft squishy fragile (more often than not traumatized) hearts? yeah, get 'em a stuffed animal and a paci and a hug now. they need it.
i think a lot of people's favorite regressor headcanons tend to be type 8 (simon iron lung, catra applesauce meowmeow, geralt of rivia, etc). in one way or another (regression, whump, just narrative device or wish on a real person), a lot of people love to see a strong person's façade get broken. it's satisfying. if the 8 character is "good", people usually want to be one of the select few who gets to hold them in their scary vulnerable moments, and if the 8 character is "bad", people usually want to see them brought to their knees and humbled somehow. occasionally it's both!
the thing about type 8s and age/pet regression specifically, is that secretly, deep down, 8s want to be looked after (and it's more obvious on the surface than we'd like to admit - also, this is ESPECIALLY true of sx8, which is what i am (our keywords are posession, surrender, and devotion)), but even when we do the work to let ourselves be soft without judging or hating ourselves for it, it's still the most difficult thing in the world to actually crack open that bubble and let it out when the time is right. that's why 8's and regression, specifically with a cg, is a match made in heaven. with someone who is a verified, close, trusted personal confidant(e), and (this is VERY important for a type 8) who GENUINELY respects them as a person and thinks highly of them, it's both possible and sweeter than honey to be able to coax that kind of openness from us. we just want our faces cradled gently and to be told that even in our intensity, we're not too much.

eee i'm so excited!! these are the first moodboards i've made (aside from my intro post/my aesthetic moodboard) that i've shared on here 🥰
these two are so important to me. i loved the movie so much the first time i saw it, and what stuck out to me the most was how much of myself i saw in benson - specifically, the darkness in me, what i am or what i could be in my least healthy state. it's one of my favorite films now, and when i started regressing back in december, benson was the first character who i could think of who needed to be small as much as/in the same way i did. he was the first character i ever wrote little!headcanons of!
i didn't think too much about randy regressing until i saw others write little!randy content, and was hooked. since his arc is all about him finding his voice and his power, i initially pictured him as a cg, sort of flipping/mirroring their initial dynamic. but do you know what's even better than that? flip4flip! little!randy gets to learn how to take up space and assert his needs without any shame or guilt, and little!benson gets to learn how to feel safe in surrender, see the strength in his softness 😭
ough, i just love them. there's hardly words for it 🥹🦒🐊
