People say that it is a strong word, but in her clouded mind; it was feeble in comparison to the resentment she harbored within her very SOUL. Those mechanical serpents slither & click, plant & grasp with every calculated movement, aiding her travel & elevated her high as if she were GODSENT. The pain that stung at her spine, that ached at her torso, a mere afterthought as her focus was set on the blinding red that people called RAGE.
Not a second goes by that she does not feel it. Not a second goes by that she does not hear them. Devils upon her shoulders.

They told him to stop. They told him to shut it down. & yet did Icarus continue his flight, destined to fail & blinded by his ambitions. If he flew too close to the sun, why in the end did she end up BURNED?
She volunteered. A willing participant in his endeavors, but only due to the assurance that he could not have miscalculated, no, not his great & wonderful mind only few could wish to have a mere FRAGMENT of.
But she did not volunteer to be scarred. To be tormented by the constant noise in her mind, by the voices of those snakes staked into her spine.

She had given it thought. Genuine thought. On whether or not that doctor was deserving of the foul feeling that burned within her like the power of the SUN he sought to recreate. A man whom she admired for his brilliance, his warmth & company she found to be of great comfort in times.
So why... Why did he insist on putting her in DANGER?
