A ref for Kirby!
They’re an Angha, which is a magical peafowl-fox that can grant wishes, and they and their partner Nix, own an antiques and magic shop
Kirby’s extremely organised, and has a place for everything and everything in it’s place, and everything is labeled, written down and filed. Being disorganised or messy stresses them out, but luckily Nix is usually around to calm them down
They are rather aloof when meeting new people, but open up quickly while talking about something magic related, and especially if a magic item ‘finds’ it’s owner
Inktober Day9: Fall Leaves
Kirby was getting her car ready to head off to Boston to visit her parents. Well, more like picking her little brother, Elvis, for the holidays. It's been a couple of years since Kirby has spent the holidays with her parents. She drove down the streets, her hands gripping the wheel, her focus on the road. The wind blew, shaking the branches, leaves flying away, some landing on the ground, others adventuring their journey farther. Kirby smiled softly, relaxing as the colorful trees passed by, more leaves going about their day.
She drove into Boston, the streets littered with leaves that had fallen from the trees, knowing their time was up. Some trees already naked in the midst of autumn, other still needing a bit of a shake to let go of their leaves. Kirby looked around, stopping at a light, her mind replaying memories of her childhood.
Braided pigtails, a purple hoodie, dark blue jeans, leather boots. Bright brown eyes, wide in curiosity, feet pounding on the leaf-littered grass. Giggles filling the air. A young Kirby at the park with her parents, enjoying the crisp cool air, the wind creating a whirlwind of leaves as Kirby jumped into a pile of crispy leaves, her new puppy jumping along with her.
The light turned green and it seemed like she saw her younger-self enjoying the season at every turn. Children laughing and playing, not a care in the world. Kirby parked at the driveway of her parents' mansion of a house. She took the last swig of coffee, a boost to brave enough the decision she was about to make. She stood in front of the door and knocked. Her mother answered.
"Kirby, you're a little early" her mother looked at her in surprise.
"Hey mom, I know, there wasn't a lot of traffic" Kirby replied, nodding.
"Well, let me go get Elvis" she was about to call for him.
"Actually mom, I was thinking..." Kirby stopped her. Her mother looked at her expectantly, letting her continue. "Maybe I should stay here for the holidays." Her mother eyed her before a smile crept up on her face.
"You're always welcomed" she let her in and Kirby smiled.
Inktober Day6: Autumn Insects
I need to stop procrastinating. enjoy
~
Kirby started to get ready to head to work. She did her usual coffee and looked out the window, admiring the view for the umpteenth time it seemed. It was now autumn. The trees were changing from their usual green to an assortment of warmth: reds, oranges, and yellows. The usual animals you'd see in those bright summer days, hidden now as the temperature decreased. Mosquitoes still attacking as humidity took over the atmosphere.
The one thing that got the town really excited for fall was the butterfly migration. Like every fall, the monarchs would fly by and start their migration down south for the winter. The town held an all-week festival as the sky was littered with thousands of butterflies. Children would play around, trying to catch them. Photographers would take a chance for the perfect picture, the perfect aesthetic.
Kirby smiled, getting her mug full of coffee. She loved this time of year. It was all so beautiful. She walked out of her apartment and headed to the coffee shop. Everywhere around town was butterfly themed, the colors engulfing the town. She opened up shop, a couple of small butterfly decorations on the windows and tables. As soon as the first customers came in, a swarm of butterflies flew down the street and everyone looked at them in amazement. Kirby walked to the door and looked out, camera in hand. A butterfly landed on a window of the shop, next to one of the stickers. Kirby quickly snapped a picture and looked at it, satisfied with the results. The butterfly flew away, joining the others, heading back home, leaving the town with a trail of orange and black.
Another doodle with Kirby and Nix, mainly so I could draw Nix’s normal form
They’re just a big kittyfox, sleeping on Kirby whenever they’re trying to do anything :3c
