Like, I never had to come out as trans to my high school friends, I don’t have to hear what they have to say about all this although the ones I’m still in touch with are doing well on that point but that’s a fucking confirmation bias if ever there was one

Tbh I didn’t really ship it until Scanlan took back the proposal, and then suddenly I was like “NO WAIT”. I think it was part of me realizing that their dynamic was so much better after he’d had the growth necessary for him to be able to back off.

yeah - i think that’s pretty common! & I totally get it. I love Scanlan; he’s my man, but he was also a trashcan on fire for a good half of the series...and lbr still on through the end lol. I can understand some people holding the ship at arm’s length until he did show that growth and maturity. because Pike deserved that growth and maturity!

for me, from the very beginning, I never saw it as a “joke ship” or “Scanlan is just gonna be a disrespectful, overreaching ass the whole time”, I kinda always felt it was going to be an arc of “Scanlan matures for Pike and Pike - who’s always been interested but never secure enough in his feelings or her own feelings because of his immaturity to pursue them - sees it and they’re finally able to bridge that gap in their relationship”

and luckily! I was right!

so I view a lot of those early moments between them with great fondness, because it’s that sense of ‘aw look how far they’ve come’ along with that sense of ‘you can tell how much they genuinely care about each other even here’

fjord does have teeth sticking out in his char art i couldn’t tell bc it was so tiny on my screen but there u have it

Hi!! I love how the coloring turned out in the recent self-portrait you did, and I was wondering what program you use for digital art? I tried to see if you'd answered a similar question already and didn't find anything, but apologies if I just missed it! ^^;

I try to tag each piece with the program I used to make it, but sometimes I forget. Right now the two programs I use are PaintTool SAI and Photoshop CS3. Looks like I forgot to put the PaintTool SAI tag on the portrait, so I just fixed it. :)

I love how detailed you draw outfits for the fantasy-type characters you do! What kind of research do you do to get that level of detail?

thanks! in case of fan art I can’t take much credit, most of the outfits were already designed and I just copy them the best way I can (ex I used deadfire’s official art as reference in my last sketch)

coming up with original designs involves heavier use of references and lots of tears unless I already have a specific look in mind (which doesn’t happen often). Most of my refs come from pinterest, tumblr inspo blogs, fantasy/sci fi movies and concept art
