Marie was always strict, distant, impossible to please. But after the death of Oliver —her husband and Saturna’s father— home turned into hell. A teenage girl drowning in substances, making noise with her guitar… and a broken, inmigrant widowed mother.
At 19, Marie pulled her out of college and locked her in a convent —maybe just to get rid of her.
Spoiler: it worked. When Sat got out, she never went back. She left, and swore never to see her mother again.
