This was where Elliot was going to require self-control. He may be a beta, but being in an omega’s den, in their actual nest, while they were melting from heat and dousing the room in pheromones was enough to try anyone’s patience. Steeling himself, Elliot thinks back to the tricks his grandma used to tell him, to hold himself in control, and steps forward with the duffel to the edge of the bed, crouching down before the mound of fabric that had become of Octavio with his delivered offering.
Octavio has to come out of his blanket shell to fully grab the duffel and examine the contents, and when he does, the scent is clean overwhelming. For a second, Elliot is drowning a bit, unable to focus on anything else in the room but the smell of a fresh heat, cloying and dark and tempting. Elliot can feel the way the back of his neck flushes, salivating a bit and having to swallow against the fuzziness at the tip of his tongue that made him want to lick his canines. Shuddering, Elliot closes his eyes, pupils dilated, and focuses hard on remembering the lyrics cotton-eyed joe, breathing shallowly to try and keep his lungs from filling with more of Octavio.
