I just finished reading “The Men Who Talked Between the Words” and I cried was sobbing loudly in the bathtub for like 2 hours and couldn’t put it down until I’d finally finished it. This has occupied my almost every waking moment since I began devouring it like a week ago. One of the best fanfiction novels I have ever read by the amazing @odamakilock.

My apologies.

I find that I did, indeed, mess up on properly getting permission, being that it was a bit over a year ago, the author, quite correctly, feels that it would have been the right thing to do to ask again more recently, a lot of the (completely wonderful) story has been expanded upon during that timeframe and I should have checked again.

Sorry for the transgression.  The author has not asked me to take it down, but given the unfortunate feelings I have caused because of being presumptuous, I feel it is the right thing for me to take it down myself.  The story is not my creation, it never is, I just try to provide another vehicle for people to enjoy it and want it to be a positive thing.

If you have already downloaded chapter 1 of the podfic to a device, please remove it in respect for the fic author.

I will continue to enjoy the new chapters of the story as they are written and will strive to be better about communication with the authors of stories that I desire to create a podfic of.

Ahhhhh I was searching for paintings of fathers holding children because the way John’s holding the baby in that photo seems so stilted to me - like he’s trying to hold it away from Mary?! - anyway

And I come across this painting by Judy Schubert which reminds me so much of John and Bee in my favourite fic of all time The Men Who Talked Between the Words by @odamakilock

The Men Who Talked Between the Words

I know I blather on about this one every time a new chapter is posted, but man, I love this fic.

Here’s one of many lines that struck me from the newest chapters:

He can’t go fast, he can’t elbow people aside but they part around him with the same unconscious flutter of a shoal of fish avoiding a predator.

This fic is such a comfort to me.  Gently written, taking its time, beautifully composed and crafted.  I saved it as a treat and am reading it after a particularly grueling, emotionally wrought and distressing week, and it makes me smile.

Huh, I’m finally done with this one.. This is inspired by the story “The Men Who Talked Between the Words”, written by Odamaki (along with apparently brilliant beta and everything-er Codenamelazarus). This isn’t meant to represent any specific point in the story and is just a first attempt on drawing some parentlock. I do have a dozen pictures ready to be drawn that take some precise moments of the story into value, but, I figured, having never even tried to draw an infant before, I thought I should try my hand at something a little more independent first. The background is like this because of various reasons, one of which, I’ll admit, is that I hate (and fail) to draw backgrounds; another being that it has an actual intention to it ^-^ I am well aware that I am, by far, not a good artist. I hope you can look over that fact and just appreciate the idea.. Thank you, @odamakilock, for this absolutely fantastic and inspiring story. Again, I can’t begin to explain how much I admire it!
