DC Brau’s Space Reaper Double IPA (Picked up at Odd Provisions in DC). A 3 of 4. A solid DIPA that is well balanced -- there’s quite a bit of fruity sweetness in the body that helps cut through the resinous body and finish. Mostly orange citrus hop profile and some faint floral qualities. Clearly a “big” beer from the first sip, although the booze doesn’t poke out too much.

3 Stars Peppercorn Saison (Picked up at Odd Provisions in DC). A 3 of 4. A good saison with nice yeasty qualities and a fruity sweetness that is cut by some relatively powerful spice notes. The peppercorns add a nice complexity to this, but it isn’t too peppery or aggressive. Not the most complex thing ever, but a nice light touch of funk from the yeast, and refreshing.

Prairie Artisan Ales Apricot Funk (Picked up at Odd Provisions in DC). A 3 of 4. Like most things Prairie makes, this is quite good. Smells quite strongly of apricots and a clear tart yeast presence with a mild funk. Quite a bit more fruit than funk here, which is nice and refreshing. A somewhat dry body and a citrus fruit acidity in the finish. Not incredibly complex, but good.
