You wouldn't happen to know how to add stripes to a pocket would you?
No I don’t. But I messaged my friend @moonlitmanila (I’ve recently converted them into an OS fan :) ) about it, and this is what they had to say about it! For anyone interested in the OS suit pockets and/or welt pockets, please read below the cut!
The following text is their messages to me:
Okay so pockets first. Their pockets are called welt pockets - single iirc - and here is a way to make it: https://sewguide.com/sew-welt-pockets-single-double/ The red strip is nothing more but decoration so I think it's nothing more than a strip of red cloth inserted between the layers so it would show in the outside.
If you zoom this picture a bit, you'd see that the cut below is lower to make way for the strip
The entire thing your see is basically how big the hole is but the cover of the pocket is the red strip and the blue cloth above it
Assuming this is a strip of red cloth inserted in between, this is a different thin cloth if the same red color so it wouldn't bulk and would not create too thick a layer.
As for oscar's coat, his pocket is a patch pocket meaning it's sewn outside compared to the agents's pockets which are all inside. But the green strip is probably a layer beneath the white strip above then sewn on the white part unless they sew it beneath so the stitch would be invisible but it needs a lot of ironing so the fabric would be easy to handle. The same goes for the welt pockets but it's more for patch pockets. That's for me tho so the person who will do it might find a different way to make it easy for them.
I forgot to add that that red strip is not an independent thing. It's in between so it looks like this:
The tutorial details this I think and they would find lots of videos on making a welt pocket so it should be better for them
Okay I hope that helps! Again all the credit goes to the amazing @moonlitmanila (thank you so much for all of this information!!!)
