Time had a crisis for 3-5 business days when he realized he had Something for Legend. Leg of course realized this and the next time they met up, he greeted Time with a dry “Are you over whatever that was??” If he called Time out that disaster would have bolted.

Legend would rather die than spend an overnight at the townhouse with Time. Even if the walk of shame takes place at 430am, he values his independence too much to submit to sleeping in the man’s bed.

Legend sobbing on it is going to be Time’s fap fodder for the rest of his life. 

Time is forbidden from giving Legend any gifts.

None of the other others find out about their little flings. It doesn’t feel right to share it with them.

Who fell harder and who fell first?

Legend definitely falls harder, that emo bitch. He has trauma re: attachment in that it's hard for him to warm up to someone but once he falls, he falls deep.

Time fell first, but it took him several weeks to realize that he had. Once he finally recognized the subtle affectionate gestures he was making, he understood what was going on inside him.

Who's more likely to say "we're not leaving this room today"?

God, I think it's either one of them. That seems such a dom thing to say. Also if/when/once they get physical, there is going to be a ravenous honeymoon period.

Who gets jealous more easily and how obvious are they about it?

Although Legend can get territorial, knowing Time's body count partner history, he might be less surprised.

Once he's attached, Time's rbf is intense when he zeroes in on someone trying to solicit Legend's affections.

What's the darkest "we'll never tell anyone" thing they've done together?

Alleyway quickie near some bar they just left. It's a competition of who can get the other to finish first. Loser provides oral services once they get back to the closest townhouse/apartment. God I wish I could spoiler text here.

What tiny habit of the other do they find unbearably adorable?

Time privately thinks it's hysterical when Legend gets fired up about something. It's like watching a kitten spit. He's a total non-threat in Time's eye.

Legend can pick up on when Time is shy about something better than anyone, excepting Malon. They are verrrry subtle tells, but it's still amusing to observe in a man of such intimidating stature.

Legend/Hyrule

How did they both realize, 'oh wait, this is actually real love'?

Legend realized that Hyrule loved him after the home invasion in HSH. Rulie was a catatonic med student in the original scene that we've all seen (ha), but as soon as needs were triaged and wounds addressed, Hyrule pulled Legend aside to hug him for a really, really long time. It made Legend feel some kinda way. Later on, when he was helping Hyrule pack up his stuff to move to Castle Town, he realized that he was doing it not only because it's nice to help others.

Hyrule felt attracted to Legend fairly quickly. It wasn't until Legend went through the trouble to move Rulie's shit to the Termina townhouse without being asked or compensated that Hyrule realized something, although he first wrote it off as Legend trying to repay a debt after Koholint. But then, there were more little things--like Legend making sure he had a coffee on the way out the door, or stuffing a snack in his work bag--that clued Rulie in. He, too, realized his own feelings after the home invasion. Sure, he didn't want the other guys to get hurt either, but Legend?? It was one of the first times that Hyrule couldn't compartmentalize an emotion while on duty.

What's 'their' song, the one that makes them tear up or grin like idiots?

I can literally never come up with song answers. It's just a mental block for me. I'm imagining something 90s/early aughts, punk in nature, that Legend loves and Hyrule mercilessly dunks on him for.

Who's more likely to say "we're not leaving this room today"?

Hyrule is one thirsty, thirsty bitch.

What nickname do they have for each other that would mortify them if the others heard?

Legend doesn't really use pet names, but he's quick to whip out "baby/babe" in the bedroom. Hyrule thinks it's a bit silly, but he runs with it.

There is a word in Calatian that roughly translates to "dumpster cat." Hyrule's use of it as a term of endearment is genuine.

Warriors/Time

How did they both realize, 'oh wait, this is actually real love'?

Warriors knew that Time's murder spree during the whole Volga thing meant something. He didn't know exactly what until he stood on Malon's porch in the rain and Time, soaked to the bone, asked him if they could start over. He ran away at first, entirely terrified, until Malon talked him in to going home--which got him to admit his feelings to himself.

Time isn't going to admit anything to himself or to Hylia for another several years yet. The earrings-gift meant something, yes, but he has himself convinced it's a more casual gesture. Sure, Time, sure.

What's the most embarrassing thing they've walked in on the other doing?

Time has definitely walked in on Warriors perched on the edge of the tub, legs splayed out and holding a hand mirror to determine when he needs his next wax.

Warriors ran into Time once while he was out clothes shopping by himself. Time wasn't embarrassed about any of the sweaters he was holding, but Wars sure was.

What's a tiny habit of the other that they find unbearably adorable?

Warriors has this tiny wrinkle, more like a dimple, that creases between his brows when he's focused on something--the paper, a sudoku puzzle, his phone. Time can tell just how concentrated he is by how deep it looks. He can never bring it up, though, lest Warriors go for botox the next day.

Warriors does love it that Time hums to himself as he's getting ready. Even if he's pretending to be asleep early in the morning, his ears are still following lazy tunes back and forth from the bathroom to the closet.

If one of them had to leave forever, what would they leave behind for the other?

Ohhh Time would AGONIZE over what he would end up leaving. A piece of jewelry? A keepsake for display? Something else to be worn, like a new scarf? Something for protection? Maybe one of each.

Warriors would leave a bill.

Oooo good asks, I had a few people ask about Time x Legend...

Time x Legend

You're a hurt/comfort lover in denial. Where Legend is the hero who's seen the world a hundred different times, Time is the one who's seen the world a hundred different ways. There is something equal and opposite about their experiences that makes them both jaded, just differently. There is a quiet undercurrent of a mutual desire to comfort between them, and yet a firsthand knowledge that "if I push too hard, I'm going to scare him away." The real payoff with these two is in the surrender, the subtle power exchange, and the immediate aftermath where the walls have come down and the meniscus of that Vase of Emotions is very near spilling over.

Wild x Legend

Wild and Legend are opposites in their own way, so there's some of that opposites-attract vibe as well as the potential for conflict. Legend is a methodical completionist who tackles problems one at a time, and his experience has taught him that this is the best way to tackle issues. Wild comes from a world where there are no rules and his creativity is only limited by his own strength. These two have a lot they can learn from one another, and their little bedroom exchanges come down to curiosity and a willingness to be vulnerable to one another. When they get together one of them is clearly the 'dominant' director of the encounter, and when things go right between them, there is that deep satisfaction on the dom's side of "yeah, I did that" that is gratifying to the reader as well.

Are any of the boys into watching sports on TV? If they are, what are the preferences, and are there any team rivalries in the townhouse? Is there viewing schedule conflict because someone likes hockey and someone else likes football and there's always a civil war over what gets watched in the living room during the season? Is anyone into more obscure sports like horse racing or rugby or tennis? Who has no interest in anything at all? -- Oddi

There are those among the house that are "in to" sports, and those who are in to making petty wagers over nothing in particular. Among them, there is overlap.

Those in to sports:

Twilight - When I say "wrestling" I don't mean WWE shit. He was a wrestler in high school, so he does enjoy watching Goron wrestling when tournaments are on.

Wars - Tennis, although he's more of a casual watcher.

Sky - I'm sure there's some aerial sport involving Rito he'd be in to. Also the Hylian football/rugby equivalent.

Hyrule - Also Hylian football/rugby, but for different reasons.

Wind - Surfing, but also some obscure winter sport like speed skating.

There is some overlap between the latter half of the football season and wrestling tournaments, but Twi and Sky are both so easygoing that they'll trade off living room watching privileges.

Those not into sports:

Legend - He's more of a liberal arts kid. He'll go to a concert or even a symphony any day over a sporting event.

Four - Just, no interest. The others get too loud when they're watching sports anyway.

Wild - He'll happily make whatever themed snacks are appropriate for the watch party, but he's always got a million redundant questions about the sport during the game and not enough answers from those engrossed in the action to really get invested.

Time - He doesn't understand the appeal whatsoever. He'd rather do than watch.

Regardless of their opinions on sport, Legend and Warriors are the two most likely to start bets over games and loop in other unsuspecting roommates, only for the boys to have to break up the resulting fight when a game is called on a technicality.

Legend/Hyrule

Is their relationship toxic or unhealthy in any way?

If you look at how they got together, I would venture to say 'yes'. In a world where I wasn't writing fanfic, I would not have chosen for Legend and Hyrule to get together in the way that they did. Legend was in an incredibly vulnerable place after the events of Koholint, although he was and is certainly no stranger to major trauma. The fact that Hyrule invited Legend to live with him is ethically questionable imo, because Hyrule was attracted to him pretty early on. Legend could feel trapped by the way that he and Hyrule started cohabitating before their relationship developed, but honestly I think that he's just so tired of being alone that he's going to subconsciosuly cling to any love that's shown in his direction.

Do they argue often? About what?

Yes. About Ravio.

Ravio has Legend involved in some dubious business, the legality of which is highly questionable. Hyrule doesn't like Ravio's influence, he doesn't like his looks, he thinks Ravio's vibes are disgusting.

But, I've also been toying with the idea of: what if there's also some cultural clash between Lorule and Calatia? What if Hyrule's bias is rooted in bigotry? It's something one really wouldn't expect from sweet Hyrule, so it's kind of interesting to noodle on as a source of friction between him and Legend.

Twilight/Dark

Are there any regrets or unresolved issues between them?

Not just yet, no. But their relationship is rife for this possibility. Dark's world is full of danger and back-stabbing, and as such a close former 'officer' of Ganondorf he does have a target still proverbially painted on his back. You can't tell me Twi isn't going to get dragged into some Situations later on in the story.

Similarly, Twilight is going to have a LOT of familial angst when it comes to not just admitting that he's gay, but introducing Dark to his parents in ANY capacity. And we thought introducing him to Time was hard...

What's an opinion they'll never agree on? How do they deal with that?

Environmental cleanliness. Twilight's standards of a clean kitchen/bathroom/bedroom/litterbox/laundry pile are LEAGUES above where Dark's are, and cohabitation is bound to lead to some arguments and an uneven distribution of chores until they come to some manner of agreement, however that may look.

Warrtime

What would it take for them to break up?

An act of Hylia. Time is so stubborn and set in his ways that once he's let someone in, they remain close to his heart forever, even to his own detriment (see: Malon). Warriors is so attached to that man and his wallet that nothing short of death would see them separated.

Spice under the cut. From that Time/Hyrule chapter that I've left alone for far too long...

The way Time handled the blade, the effortless muscle memory of it, had Hyrule biting his lip in anticipation.  "Do you trust me?" Hyrule tilted his head back as much as his restraints would allow, arching his back more deeply as he closed his eyes. "Uh-huh."

I saw a really interesting question posed on Instagram today that can, apparently, be extremely telling regarding how two people in a relationship feel about each other/their relationship, so I pose this to each of the HSH/LMTCoY couples: if your partner was an article of clothing in your closet, what would they be and why? - Oddi 🍄

ODDI WITH THE HARD QUESTIONS. I only have brain space for a few so here goes. (Okay but after I started this I realized that it is rather poignant and I'm having Emotions.)

LMTCOY WarrTime

Warriors would compare Time to an oversized wool sweater. It's large, it's warm and cozy, it gets a little itchy and annoying if it's too clingy, but overall it's... comfortable. It looks cute. You can wear it to the coffee shop or running errands or just hanging out around the house. You can even dress it up and take it to a nice dinner in a pinch, so long as it keeps its mouth shut.

Time would consider Warriors to a necktie. Because it's like a noose, only fancier.

Twark

Twilight has one small, subtle piece of jewelry, a bracelet, that's pride-themed. And he always thinks of Dark when he wears it. Not because... because, but Dark isn't afraid to wear who he is on his own sleeve. It gives Twi the courage to try and be himself, too.

Dark would proudly crow that Twilight is like ASSLESS CHAPS just for the groans and eye-rolls. Truthfully, though, the man spends most of his time naked unless there's company.

LegRule

Legend would want to brush this question off. He'd be dodgy and snarky about it all up until the point at which he admits that shortly after Hyrule took him in, he gifted Legend with just some basic articles of clothing to bolster his thin wardrobe--especially because moving from an island to the bullshit weather of Termina meant that he was relatively unprepared. As such there is a particular pair of cozy socks that he would be loath to part with.

Hyrule is similarly going to dodge the SHIT out of this question because heavens forbid anyone knows about the collar or the harness or the garter belt or...
