It wasn’t very often Fudou went wandering the city on his own, especially not at night. But he could tell he wasn’t going to be able to sleep anytime soon, and Golden’s neon lights were more than a little enticing.
He’d heard it was dangerous, sure, but that was why he kept to the more lit up streets, hands tucked into his hoodie while he glanced around the tall buildings, still bright and full of activity even at these late hours.
He didn’t stop until he came to one of the bigger ones, the casino. Music could be heard on the sidewalk out front, and the lights from the rest of the city were almost dim in comparison to this place’s.
Nearby, there was a woman who seemed to be sizing up the place, but somehow didn’t seem terribly impressed. Huh. She had to have been around way too many blocks, then, he figured.
“Lemme guess. You’ve seen bigger?”
