He was serious when he said he was going to take Odessa to the range to learn how to use her weapon. It seemed pointless for her to have it if she didn’t know how it worked. So once they were both ready and he had his coffee, they headed to the shooting range. He brought a couple of his own pieces, that way she could test different weights and kicks. By the time they got there he was a little excited for her to learn. “First we have to go over the boring stuff but it’s stuff you have to know,” he started then went on to explain the different parts, the safety, loading and unloading, and cleaning. Something he would probably go over with her a few more times just so she had it down. “Alright get your ear things on so you can still hear later,” he came up behind her and put his arms over hers to direct them. “Keep both eyes open, look where you want to aim and then pull,” he encouraged, trying to figure out how to explain drops and adjustments. Teaching was hard. “Sometimes ye got to aim a little bit higher or lower depending on the kick and how far away things are.”
