Petition to give the Odin Robe to Siegfried
You know why I would have loved to see Siegfried wear the Odin Robe, instead of Seiya? Aside from Seiya stealing everyone’s spotlight when he doesn’t deserve it, obviously.
Because Athena goes such a long way to say “no, my Saints should never fight with weapons” (I already explained that weapons that are inherently part of the Cloths are good), but then she doesn’t bat an eye when Seiya wields a goddamn sword in battle. While wearing an armor that’s NOT a Cloth and it’s not linked to her, and as such an armor that gives him no right to use a weapon.
This pisses me off so much, because Seiya can get away with basically everything and no consequences happen.
It would have been so cool to actually se an asgardian wear the Odin Robe. And by asgardian I mean Siegfried. The end of the Asgard arc was so bad, I’m still angry about it.
Obviously, the same criticisms goes towards Aiolia. At least he switched to that other thing (of which I don’t remember the name), something that was actually needed to stop Loki. But still! Stop giving these Saints weapons that are not part of their Cloths, and then walk away like nothing happens.
With Seiya it wasn’t necessary. They could have concocted a way better ending for the Asgard arc, without getting rid of Siegfied’s sacrifice in order to try and kill Sorrento. With Aiolia, while the Robe was necessary (because Odin chose him to defeat Loki), the sword wasn’t. And I get it, the sword is part of the Robe, but a Saint doesn’t need to fight with a sword, and Aiolia didn’t need the sword against Loki.
It’s frustrating.
