Erupted Complex Odontoma in Mandibula: Case Report by Alem Coşgun in IPDOAJ - Lupine publishers
Odontomas are the most common odontogenic tumour. They are considered to be hamartous rather than neoplasms. They are consist of dentin, enamel and cementum. They are generally asymptomatic and discovered on routine radiographic examination. Disturbances in tooth eruption are one of the most common complications associated with odontomas. Eruption of odontoma in the oral cavity is rare. This case report presents an erupted complex odontoma in a 12-year-old girl long with its related clinical and radiological manifestations and the surgical management.

Compound Odontoma in Maxillary Anterior Region by Rajashekar Reddy V in #IPDOAJ - #Lupinepublishers
Odontomas are most common hamartomatous developmental malformations. They can be differentiated into compound and complex type based on the level of organization of the tissues. Majority of odontomas are asymptomatic however these lesions can cause delayed eruption, impaction, or even retention of deciduous teeth. This case report presents a compound odontoma in 13 year old boy along with its related clinical and radiological manifestations and the surgical management.

Abstract
Odontomas are the most common type of odontogenic tumors and generally they are asymptomatic. This paper describes three cases of compound odontomas diagnosed in children due to dislodgement or over-retention of primary anterior teeth and/or swelling of the cortical bone. In all cases, the surgical excision of the lesions was performed and, in one case, orthodontic treatment was adopted in order to move an impacted permanent tooth to its normal position. The results achieved indicate that the early diagnosis of odontomas allows the adoption of a less complex and expensive treatment and ensures better prognosis. (Pediatr Dent 23:151-157, 2001)
Odontomas are considered to be developmental anomalies resulting from the growth of completely differentiated epithelial and mesenchymal cells that give rise to ameloblasts and odontoblasts. These tumors are basically formed of enamel and dentin but they can also have variables amounts of cement and pulp tissue.1 During the development of the tumor, enamel and dentin can be deposited in such a way that the resulting structures show an anatomic similarity to normal teeth, in which case the lesion is classified as a compound odontoma. However, when the dental tissues form a simple irregular mass occurring in a disorderly pattern, it is described as a complex odontoma.2 Compound odontomas appear more frequently than complex odontomas.3,4 These odontogenic tumors can be found anywhere in the dental arches. The majority of odontomas which are located in the anterior region of the maxilla are compound, while the great majority of odontomas located in the posterior areas, especially in the mandible, are complex odontomas.1,5,6 The etiology of the odontoma is unknown.7 However, it has been suggested that trauma and infection at the place of the lesion can offer ideal conditions for its appearance.7,8 In general they are asymptomatic, have slow growth,1 and seldom exceed the size of a tooth, but when large can cause expansion of the cortical bone.1,

What Doctors Removed From This Boy’s Jaw Will Make Yours Drop
As children, one of the many pangs of growing up is teething, subsequently followed by losing them, and then teething all over again. The incoming of one’s adult teeth is something of a milestone. However, what happens when that rite of passage is nearly tripled?
Such was the case with one seven-year-old boy in Madhya Pradesh, India.
According to The Independent, the young Vivek had to have 80…
