show: here's a story where the extent of the main character's sexuality is what can be gleaned from the narrative revolving around a culture of violence where the sexual violation of women is taken as a given and transposed onto disadvantaged men/underaged boys in an environment of rancid homophobic homosociality and all of his interactions that can be read as saying something about his sexuality involve his role in the investigation of the sexual assault and murder of a cabin boy and his relationships to an unfairly accused explicitly gay man whom he sympathizes and verbally identifies with and to the perpetrator, with whom he engages in several symbolic animal-double ritualistic murder-sex scenes
