THE TRANSITION IS A DIFFICULT mental and physical strain that they have all had to go through. some , unlike her, were able to ride through it more EASILY than others. if she could, she wanted to make sure that tris was given that luxury. when she was bitten by carine, the young girl had been stripped completely of what made her human and had become UNHINGED. she resented the other woman for trying to curb her appetite and ended up taking off on her own. all the LIVES SHE TOOK she carried them around on her back like luggage to remind herself just how d a n g e r o u s she could be if she didn’t keep herself in control. the guilt she felt was a weight she was never going to be able to shake and edythe didn’t want the other to have to DEAL with that the way she does.
HER MOVEMENTS ARE SOFT , SLOW so not to startle or possibly anger the young newborn. edythe could remember how VIVID everything was when she first turned. how it felt as if every nerve in the body was working overtime. these heightened senses are something that she would eventually get used to, even grow to enjoy. ‘ your throat must be irritating you. ‘ it always BURNS the most whenever they are new. ‘ come on, get up. we’ll go HUNTING together. ‘ she knew just where to take her. far away from any nearby town or trails in the woods. far away from HUMAN CONTACT as was possible. ‘ a MOUNTAIN LION or DEER should calm it. ‘ calm it , but not entirely erase the desire to taste something much richer. that was not something edythe wanted to say to her though. she wanted to give the other HOPE , hope that it wouldn’t be so hard.
