they haven’t been together that long--a couple weeks, three at most--but it’s only natural that alek should have started acclimating to niko’s more outlandish tendencies already. most of his tendencies are outlandish, after all. anyway, he’s taken running leaps at alek’s back more than enough times for him to have at least moved past the stage of utter shock when it happens. plus, they’re at the beach. if he falls, it’s only sand. there’s a moment of uncertainty when niko first lands on his back, arms looping around alek’s neck while his legs do the same to his waist, but they steady eventually. “my legs are tired,” he says next to alek’s ear, and he wiggles his toes where they’re dangling out to the side for emphasis. “i need a ride to get ice cream, please. mush!”
