Hi, I've been assigned to do a project for my psychology class on autism and as I'm not autistic I don't want to come across as ableist. Do you have any recommendations for sources and stuff?

My main recommendation is that you use autistic sources instead of allistic ones that try to talk over us. And Amythest from neurowonderful has a really amazing masterpost right here, with tons of good information, so definitely check that out.

for the anon with anxiety: maybe start small, like 'that thing makes me anxious' 'that stresses me out can i not do that' 'that makes me uncomfortable' that way they reach the conclusion about your anxiety themselves and you can just confirm it but above all, like avery said, stay safe so if you think its not safe be cautious and good luck

youre def. right that phil is more closed off on panels when dans not around, i think its because, like hes said before, he does bad with large crowds in person, like hes fine on younow because he cant see all those people but when he can he gets nervous and i think he sort of uses dan as like a safety blanket, does any of this make sense? i hope im explaining this well

yeah, exactly! that’s how i feel. dan’s really awkward too, but he’s able to transform this sort of nervous energy into comedy really easily, and phil is more quiet and held back when he’s alone. i think they work really well as a duo in those types of situations with large crowds, they feed off of each other and kind of level each other out
