"Yuna," there were times when it looked as if the former summoner was lost in thought. Paine could understand, she'd spent many an hour lost in her own thoughts, replaying memories over and over, wondering what could've been done differently. wondering if perhaps she'd chosen the right course of action that led her to the present. she wondered if Yuna had those same thoughts or if her memories took her to some happier place. Paine hoped she wasn't interrupting anything too cumbersome.

"Buddy's picked up some sphere waves coming from the ruins at Gagazet again. He thinks it might be on the way up to the top this time. Think you're up for the challenge of finding it?"

          ❛ i’m sorry, ❜ the apology fell with ease, head shaking just slight as azure hues focused their sight on the ground, rather than towards the one who’d spoke. she could feel the other’s own worried gaze upon her, though did not stir. 

          serah could not bear to focus on much of anything aside from the nature growing at her feet -- though this was not the first vision she’d seen, it was enough to make her feel unease. she was lightheaded from the sudden influx of haphazard images tossed into her sight, gaze clouded with both disbelief and confusion. these visions -- glimpses into events that the typical being was not made to foresee -- had only become more common by the moment. it was as if each step forward, into the pathways of time and the paradoxes between carried an even heavier risk than she’d ever initially dared to believe. 

          (yet even so, she persevered -- it was one step closer to hope, one step closer to salvation, one step closer to her dear sister, who she knew was waiting for her at hell’s gates.)

          ❛ i have no idea. ❜ came her words in their finality, breathing them out in a sigh; as if frustrated with her answer, ever wishful she could offer more in response. ever wishful that soon these sights would be understood, rather than layered in a headache and mystery.

       ‘    and this is why we don’t take fenrir for joyrides.     ’   had it been his burden to carry, without a vote for his own choices; promoted to team dad was not one of the them. it was as simple as bandaging up marlene’s or denzel’s wounds when she would have a fall, the only difference was this summoner was almost as if not twice as more clumsy as the children he had come to adopt and love as his own. once the last bit of bandage was applied, cloud found himself almost relieved the situation didn’t worsen. ‘     just-- be careful next time. alright?    ’
