to say rosalie is a little confused is an understatement, though she supposes she’s been openly hitting on this girl for the last forty minutes or so, buying her a couple drink, sliding closer to her on the couch her friends had left her on. she didn’t think that necessarily said she wanted to... hire her, though rosalie would be lying to say she didn’t want her. she thinks that much is pretty obvious from the hand she had on her thigh, which she didn’t remove just yet, though she blinked through her surprise. “oh, i didn’t know that you were...” she trails off, feeling bad for a moment. “not that there’s anything wrong with it, obviously, i’m just surprised?”

Jason had had the worst week of his life. His arm was broken, his leg was broken, collar bone was broken and most importantly his heart broken. He had seen her lifeless body, sure. But it wasn’t until the moment he saw that news report on the TV in that stupid fucking diner that it sank in. His Monica. Gone forever.

He had nothing to live for and yet he did. He should’ve died on top of that mess of a car. Burned alive. It would’ve been better than this. His lying in a warehouse on the border of Atlanta and Tennessee with more injuries than he’d ever withstood and without the one person that would’ve made him feel better. He lived to sleep, and when he didn’t, he drank - even though Hank had kept on telling him not to. And so, here he was, leaning against the bed with another glass of bourbon in his hand, head lolling next to the wall, suffering in silence.

     it was his seventh beer by the time he agreed for her to come over, and that was just enough to have him feel like he owned the world. at first it started with a couple of friends over, catching up after work and having a couple beers. except they were drinking a little more than they were used to, but as they were headed home that's when he got the text. luckily for him. he was feeling courageous, back to the days where he owned the school he used to go to and felt like he wasn't a polite, nice guy. he was, but the alcohol mixed with the ego boost he was allowing himself... she was coming over. once she arrived, it was like he was a different person. all day long he was the nice guy, but he knew that she wasn't expecting the 'nice guy'. "want a drink?" he questioned, more so referring to water because if he was about to fuck his student he wasn't going to allow her drink underage, even if he was sure the kids were doing that. despite what he was about to do, he kept some of his morals in tact. the dog was in his room, and whenever jackson would bring a girl home he'd always bring her to the spare room and pretend it was his so he didn't bother the dog. that was the one thing jackson did, no matter how drunk he was.

Having gone on a successful date with the man, Sofia was more than eager to bring him back home and see what talents he had besides pretending to be a big shot over expensive post-dinner whiskeys and an apparent knowledge in Cuban cigars. He wasn’t exactly the most thrilling of people to sit opposite over a dinner table, but the jawline and deep brown eyes were too much to not just try and obtain.

Opening the door of her apartment, she led the man into the living room, practically throwing herself on him as she kissed him passionately, her hand already trailing down his front before taking his hand and walking them both to the bedroom.

Her brows furrowed in confusion when she saw the light on through the gap of the door, though too preoccupied with the hands groping at her ass to really care. That was until she swung the door open and saw a familiar face.

“God, Will! What the fuck?”

“Wait, wait, wait!” Michael stopped Aurora in her tracks as she approached the steps of their new home with a box in her hand, their dogs already scampering inside like they knew it was theirs. Closing the car door behind him, he rushed up towards her and took the box from hands, setting it down onto the pavement and hoisting his girlfriend up effortlessly into his arms before she had time to protest.

“I know it’s more a wedding thing but it’s our first house together.” He chuckled, shuffling her in his arms until he had a steady grip on her, walking into their home together - thankful they had decided to furnish and move in properly on different days as he made their way to the couch and slumped backwards into it. “Welcome to our new home, babe.” He grinned at her before leaning in to give her a kiss, unable to not smile into it.

Perhaps he shouldn’t have called her to his place as a though he were a client, but he had to talk to her face to face and it seemed the easiest way to meet with her, even though she’d have no idea what it was about. Laurent had managed to track Alice down through a private detective and to see the state she was living, to see she was selling her body to make ends meet was heartbreaking. He should have tried to find her sooner.

Still, he had hoped she would forgive him once he could offer her the type of life she would have perhaps craved from the start. It was nearing 11pm and he sat on the couch impatiently checking his watch as he waited for the girl to arrive.
