Dae’s nostrils flared as he picked up the scent his brain had automatically cataloged as Ven, and he turned to see him leaning against the wall. He raised an eyebrow, looking at the other questioningly, but before he could voice anything, Ven started to collapse. If anyone else had been in the hall at that time, or if any of them that were noticed Dae, they might have questioned how he moved fast enough to stop Ven’s head from hitting the floor. But as it was, anyone in the hall was too distracted by Ven collapsing to notice anything else. Dae gently laid him down on the floor, checking his vitals with a quiet “Shit.” He waved at one of the staff to get help and he stayed next to him. “Hey, Ven, are you still conscious? Can you hear me?”
Not again. Ven’s own thoughts as his momentary blackness came to an end echoed Dae’s. Shit. Okay. Okay. It was okay Ven. He blinked his eyes, which had never had the chance to fully close during his fall, only to realize he was on the floor. That there was someone above him. Then, even slower, that it was him. Oh shit. Of course he had to. He’d been fine other than the coughing all day, so why did today have to be one of the days where the fainted? At lest, Ven settled on, it hadn’t been for very long. It could have been a lot worse if he had blacked for any longer. As it was he was able to croak out a half annoyed - half almost helpless sounding - set of words, “I’m fine dipshit.” It wasn’t anything new to Ven, though it had been happening more often lately, he just wished it hadn’t happened in front of Dae. This was dangerous. He felt helpless, but so secure with the man here and that was such a dangerous thing. A very dangerous thing.
