Meet Wren Laska, Iris’ little sister. Putting most of it under a readmore for length.
When they were younger, back before the Demon King’s invasion of Ente Isla, these two were close. Wren would often tag along on Iris’ 'adventures’ through her village. She, along with the rest of Iris’ family made it out of their village alive when it was attacked by Satan’s invasion forces. The family was split up shortly after, Iris enlisted with one of the Church’s many branches of training, her father, a skilled alchemist, and healer was dispatched to the front lines, to help wounded troops, while Wren and her mother were transported to safe zones, where they could work farms, where her mother’s experience working with crops, and larger animals was invaluable. Her relationship with her sister was never really the same after the war started while Iris devoted basically every waking hour to her studies, and as time went on, letters stopped coming weekly, now arriving on the first of every month. Two years pass, and Wren enlists with the Church as soon as she’s able, choosing to pursue healing magic, as well as knighthood. She elects to work as a settlement guard once her training is complete, as opposed to heading to the front lines, so that she is able to stay close to her mother. Another eight years pass, before the emergence of the Hero, who successfully drives King Satan from Ente Isla. She makes several attempts to repair her relationship with Iris, and is successful, to a degree. However, just as they began to make real progress, Iris vanishes, leaving only a hastily scrawled note on the door of her home, something about “needing to make things right”. Wren has no idea where her sister is, or if she’s alright.
