jaeshi had a solid hour before his alarm was supposed to go off. he would have spent his remaining time in his room, asleep, but he could not sleep at all. in fact, he could not do anything. all night he had ideas for drawings, paintings, sculptures, and any creative visual arts idea in between. he tried to create them in his own room, but he was too sleepy in there, he had to move somewhere else.
four in the morning, at a coffee shop, or a diner, he was not completely sure, all he knew is that he was there to stay. he ordered one small black coffee and took a seat in the corner. a small, decorative corner was in the back of the shop. there was a couch, a table in front of it, and two chairs facing the table. jaeshi only took out his supplies as he needed them. he sprawled out two drawing pads, a single school-grade pencil, an eraser, and went to work.
for a solid thirty minutes he got away with hogging the table to himself, more and more taking up the given space. eventually he had crayons, markers and even paints out on the table. some patrons’s eyes were caught by him, but no one dared sit over by the weirdo with the paints. of course, sitting alone with an empty couch and empty chair near you could only last so long.
