Headcanons for Dolores/Ofsamuel
Dolores mentions going to a bat mitzvah once, before Gilead Dolores was a secular jewish woman working at a call center (she seems good and unafraid of making casual smalltalk.)
Being Ofsamuel was Dolores’ second posting and the first time she met Brianna, at first Brianna was guarded and didn’t speak until she had to, but Dolores’ casual and friendly demeanor made Brianna warm up to her shortly.
June and Emily first met Dolores in the first month June was at the Waterford house, Dolores was talking to Brianna and didn’t see/her bonnet restricted her vision of where she was stepping and almost fell and the other three helped her, after that Dolores regarded June and Emily as new friends she could also talk to.
When Lydia sent the vans to collect the Handmaids that didn’t stone Janine, Dolores was wearing a turtleneck over the base layer of clothes unlike some other handmaids who wore just the base dress. Whenever Dolores gets home, she talks to her two Marthas before doing anything else, so she takes a while shedding off her outer garments. One of the Marthas thinks she’s annoying, the other is scared someone will take advantage of Dolores’ seemingly naive nature.
Dolores copes with Gilead with her casual personality, trying to think that everything’s fine. June and Emily don’t open up to Dolores and Brianna as they do with each other at first partially because they initially think that Dolores is an actual believer in Gilead due to how calm she seems, they quickly got rid of the thought after getting to know her more.
Dolores isn’t as present in season 3 as she is in 1 and 2 where she was always with Brianna. A few months after June returned from her trip from DC Dolores was assigned a new commander since her original one is infertile and she couldn’t become pregnant (Dolores’ only appearance in season 3 is episode 7 where June returns from DC) and had to leave June’s immediate circle of handmaid friends. Brianna misses her.
Have we ever seen Brianna’s (Oferic) walking partner Dolores (Ofsamnuel) at all during season 3? I feel like we’ve seen Brianna, but never Dolores
