29 & 3?
29: “It’s okay to cry.”3: “I know it hurts.”
~~~~~~~~~~((Warning, character death heavily implied))~~~~~~~~~~
Angela was a human. She always has been, and she always will be. She would never know what Pack felt like, or what Mate felt like. She knew family, and she knew love, but she also knew that it was different for werewolves.
She also knew that losing Pack or Mate was like ripping a hole through the chest and filling it with ice and salt. She had witnessed it firsthand, when Liam got the call. She had been in the kitchen when she heard a howl unlike any other coming from the living room. Liam was on his knees, holding his phone to his face, tears streaming down his cheeks, begging for it not to be true. She would never forget the look in her son’s eyes as he listened to his Mate die.
Angela would never know that pain. But as a mother, she felt an immense pain for her son. Her son, who would no longer come out of his room, who wouldn’t eat or sleep. On a good day he would shower. Most days he wouldn’t even get out of bed.
She tried to talk to him once. “It’s okay to cry,” she had said. “I know it hurts-“
"You don’t know anything,” he had said, and she left.
She knew what he meant by that. He didn’t intend to be mean, he was just mourning. Angela knew that, so she wasn’t hurt by his words. She was more hurt by the fact that he was hurting.
And there wasn’t a damn thing she could do about it.
