Nico shot Frank a look. Of anybody, why on earth was the guy coming to him and saying this? First of all, it was obvious the guy liked his sister, and as far as Nico was concerned, anybody interested in Hazel ought to fear him first and discuss inadequacies later. (Not that Hazel couldn’t take care of herself, but the point stood.) And second of all, boy howdy, there were a lot of inadequacies, or at least Frank thought he had a lot of inadequacies.
Pretty much everything the guy did could be followed by a ‘sorry’ and not be out of place–from the way he stood, to the way he spoke. Frank was one of those guys that grew like a beanpole and then spent the rest of their lives learning how to live like a beanpole. And his voice too. He must have gone through a very rough patch when his voice change happened because now he spoke as if he was afraid of scaring people. Unless he always talked like that.
Shaking his head, Nico snorted a little.
“Really? I’ve seen the way that kids of Apollo shoot, and you can do things with a bow I’ve never seen before. And anyone that can keep up with Annabeth battle-strategizing is more than just a flaw.” Sure, Zhang. Sure.
