I won't participate in word inflation.
When I want to sound fancy or use alliteration, I'll use whatever word(s) I like.
When describing myself or fictional characters I'll use whatever language best describes me or them.
If I am talking about people I know, I'll use the words they use. If I'm talking about public figures, I'll use the words they use or the best words to describe the situation. If I'm describing strangers, I'll use appropriate terms that do not cloud meaning.
I won't soften language to prevent someone else from getting their feelings hurt, especially when they don't seem concerned about mine. Fire for fire.
Offend me. It is better than hiding your intent in soft language.
