A small ‘tink’ sound was heard as Ciel set his cup down onto the saucer. It was a quiet morning; so far it had been two hours since the young master of the house had woken up and still there was no mess to repair, or fires to put out, or repairs to be done due to the recklessness of a certain “chef”. It was a rare thing, and the butler took great pleasure in that. He couldn’t possibly handle much trouble on this day of all days. No, no… Today was an important day for the butler. What happens on this day, would change the relationship between master and butler forever. “Sebastian, what is my schedule for the day.” – Inquired Ciel. He threw a glance at his butler, noticing that he was smiling a little more widely than usual. It creeped him out. “Well, young master, believe it or not, you do not have anything planned for the day.” – Answered Sebastian, as he kneeled on the floor in front of his master to put on Ciel’s socks and shoes. As it turns out, Ciel had a mountain of paperwork for his company to be done, and a meeting with the head of a company that wishes to do business with the young earl. However, nothing could get in the way of this day. The events of this day must be carried out without interruption. So he postponed everything. At least it wasn’t a lie. “Really? That’s odd. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a day off. I suppose I’ll spend time in the library, then. ” “Actually,” – Said Sebastian, as he, rather rudely, interrupted his master. “It truly is a lovely day, and with those three servants, I don’t believe this quiet will last very long. Why not spend the morning in the garden? I’ve prepared some wonderful desserts for you, sir, that I believe would be best enjoyed in the garden.” “Well, I suppose you’re right. Come along, Sebastian.” – Ciel gave the butler his order and stood up from the bed, just as Sebastian had finished putting on his last shoe. He took the cane that was offered to him by his butler, and made his way down to the garden. { - }

The wind blew gently onto the young earl, slightly messing up his combed hair, yet it still remained elegant as ever. Sebastian stood by his side just as he has for three years, and just as he will for the years to come. There was a variety of cakes and biscuits set out on the table for the young master to enjoy. Ciel was going through each of them remarkably fast. “At this rate, he’ll get to it in no time…” – Thought Sebastian, as he watched Ciel pick out yet another biscuit. Among the variety of cakes that lay on the table, there stood one black, heart-shaped cake, which was the young master’s favorite kind. Surprisingly, it had still gone unnoticed. Ten minutes and two snacks later, and Ciel was finally reaching for the heart-shaped cake. “Sebastian, is this some kind of joke?” – Obviously, Ciel was reffering to the affectionate shape the cake was given. It was the first time Ciel had ever been given a heart-shaped cake form his butler, and frankly, it disturbed him. This was it. The moment Sebastian had been waiting for for weeks. “Young master. It’s not a joke. I made that cake… For you.” Ciel looked at his butler with a raised eyebrow. It seems Sebastian was beginning some sort of confession. “Over the course of the last two years, I noticed… a change within me. And I discovered feelings that I never even knew a demon could have. Young master… Ciel… It seems as though, against all odds, I’ve fallen in love with you. I know it can put your career at stake, but I am willing to keep our love in the shadows if it means I get even a measly taste of what it’s like to be your lover.” – Sebastian kneeled and took his master’s hand in his own. “Will you give me the chance to be your one and only love, my lord?” As Sebastian finished his confession, there was a silence that hung for what felt like hours, but were actually a few measly seconds. As Ciel finally began to open his mouth to speak, Sebastian’s heart skipped a beat. “Well, shit, Sebastian, you know I’m like 13, right? What, did you think I’d actually manage to fall in love with my butler? Go do the laundry or something, Sebastian. I don’t have time for these trivial things.” – Ciel’s harsh words ran through Sebastian’s mind, and all Sebastian could really think of was, “This little bitch.”
