ahh awesome! im waiting for my ears to heal for a few months before i can stretch them

nice! I’ve had my lobes pierced since I was a toddler so I don’t really have to worry about waiting to stretch them, thankfully. Going straight to 2mm, then 4 a month or two after, then slowly working them up until I’m at 10mm, at which point i need to decide if I want to keep them there or go to 15mm. I’m pretty fast healing so yeah, bonus.

mine was a 'how do i get these boys to not hate me for being trans' thing and apparently i decided i had to be as gross as them

i didnt really talk to any of the boys at my school and i usually ended up just kicking them in the shin and running when they did try to talk to me bc a lot of them were fucking assholes to me

Oh man. I have such opinions about Mary Sue fic. Let me tell you.

I hate, HATE, HATE people shitting on the Sues. Look, is it bad writing? Yes. Are they dull as fuck to read? Also yes. But the vitriol people throw at the Mary Sue? The witch hunts people go on to shame Sue writers? Pure goddamn sexism. 

Mary Sues typically come from young female writers who want to create a power fantasy for themselves. Imma let them have that. No goddamn skin off my nose. I just won’t read it. As they get older and more experienced they’ll figure out that flawed characters are actually easier to write than perfect ones, and they are more interesting to the reader. Until then I’m pretty content to let young girls (or even not so young girls) play with stories where an idealized version of themselves gets to overcome excessive adversity, achieve romantic fulfillment, and do heroic acts with their favorite fictional characters.

And then there is a whole separate problem of calling high powered female characters who aren’t Sues, Sues to deligitimze their stories. I hate that too.

As to if I have written it myself? No. But that's probably down to the fact that I didn't write very much at the prime Sue age group (see also: Internet was not as readily available at that point, it was the late 90s). I did invent some pretty ridiculous magical girl OCs though.
