|| Closed | @of-flames-and-liquor || Half the time she felt a competitive spirit fall over her when she got into a conflict around him; it was not a wish to impress, rather the determination to outdo and stand above him. Sure she got used to Patrick's presence but it was mostly just a tolerance, and a fight sure as hell didn't help the thin line of patience she had. It was this distasteful competition that kept her coherent in the heat of battle. It wasn't rare for them to overstep boundaries and cross the brittle line that was the law. Unfortunately this was nothing new and with gang activity becoming more potent worldwide a vicious encounter was no surprise; the sheer magnitude of the destruction they caused sure was to their opponents, though. Eddie muttered softly under her breath, fingers flexing to put a bit of time between charges of the weapon. Already the glove was heating up, a warmth to her skin that would be comforting if she wasn't already aware of the damage that would soon follow if she weren't careful. Briefly she peeked from her cover, eyes quickly scanning the empty space between either parties only to duck before she was able to make a proper assessment. "Fuck..." she muttered, though the word was drowned out by gunfire. She waited a moment for the noise to die down before growling, "How the fuck did a bunch'a delinquents get their hands on a gun like that?!" She grumbled wordlessly, half lidded gaze slowly trailing along only to freeze in place. The figure just to their side - pale light reflected off their metal body that shook like a leaf behind a poor excuse for cover. Apparently his only luck so far was going unnoticed. "Shit. Fuck this," she snarled suddenly, pushing herself off the overturned vehicle they hid behind and outstretching her hand. This was going to hurt, but it didn't matter; she wasn't going to give these sorry kids an excuse to hurt an innocent caught in the crossfire. The charge was swift, the burn starting dull and only intensifying over time. Her eyes flicked, catching the gas tank of the truck the members used as their own cover and changed directory last minute. Immediately after shooting, Eddie dove to grab the omnic's arm and pull him up. She then dragged him back to where she had just previously hid, ducking just in time for the truck to explode and send deadly scrap in all directions. She hardly noticed the screams, instead focused on the two people with her now. Without thinking, she slid her small, chubby body between the two, angled in a slightly protective fashion in front of the omnic and squinting challengingly at Patrick. She didn't speak, and so far the omnic appeared to be in too much shock to react negatively to the entire situation.
