I thought I'd take this opportunity to tell you guys about a game my friend made up. It's really easy, all you need is a pen and paper (to keep scores). It works best with between two and ten people.
Designate the roles. One person is the 'queen' or 'king', whereas the others become 'slaves'.
The 'queen' or 'king' draws out three identical charts on a piece of paper. The chart is made up of four parts to each player in the game. The first part is room for their name. The second designates 'strikes', the third where they'll be 'sleeping'. The fourth is split into three parts, each labelled one, two and three, designating the challenges that are part of the round.
The 'slaves' will gather before the 'king'/'queen'. The queen will set them three tasks per round (each round becoming harder and harder). If they passed the task, a tick is put in the appropriate section of the chart. If they failed, a cross will be put in the appropriate section.
Rules are to be set out before the round. Normally these include 'no laughing', 'speak formally', 'don't disrespect the king/queen'. If the 'king' or 'queen' is feeling annoying, they could add extra rules (for example, 'every time I say the word peanut, you must dance for five seconds').
Strikes are given whenever somebody breaks the rules. Three strikes and the slave is 'beheaded', meaning, of course, game over. Strikes carry on into the next round, but can be redeemed.
At the end of the round the slaves will be sorted into their sleeping places. The sleeping places include the queen/king's bed, the foot of the bed, on the floor, and the dungeon. Any slave who got a strike will be sent into another room to 'sleep', and must stay in one position, usually uncomfortable, until somebody fetches them. The best slave will sleep on the bed (or whatever you're using for a bed, like a sofa) besides the queen/king, and the second-best slave at the foot of the bed, "Near the stinky feet," as my friend so elegantly put it. Any other slaves will sleep on the floor by the bed.
Throughout the three rounds slaves will probably be eliminated. The last round is the hardest of all, and the last task is to impress the king/queen as much as possible. The king/queen will then determine who is the best slave, who will become the next king/queen, and the rest will be 'beheaded' and lose the game. If a second game is played, the person who won the previous game will become the king/queen. If you choose not to play another game, the winner should at least get a reward (food, maybe?)
Also, if this wasn't obvious, the king/queen makes up the rules and the challenges.
Well, I hope you'll consider playing in future or at least understood half of that. :)
