I don’t understand why people write so much about Maribat, not Abribat, for 7 years? There are more Maribat fanfics than a few Abribat fanfics, but seriously?!
You guys know Marinette has loving parents, close friends, a great talent, and a wonderful life, right??? I understand she’s the main character in the show.
But what about Adrien?! I mean, hello! He's the one who is suffering. He was neglected, his mother passed away, locked up in a house like a jail cell (Episode: Sandboy and Confrontation), abused by his father (Episode: Cat Blanc), hasn’t been fed much, was forced into being a “perfect” doll for a model, and didn’t learn anything from outside in Paris.
Can he get adopted by Catwoman or Batwoman? Or Batman, if you want to?
Marinette's class goes on a class trip to a historical mansion outside of Paris.
Know History
This mansion has a dark past. During a ball, the lady of the mansion (Bridgette) was murdered. When her husband (Felix Culpa) found her, it is said he snapped and killed everyone at the ball: servants and guests. No one knew what happened to the husband, as his body was never found.
What only Plag and Tikki know
That they were once their previous holders. Brigitte and Felix had magic of their own without the Miraculous. When Felix found Bridgette dead, something in him broke. With his magic, he made it so no one could leave, and with his claws, he killed everyone, painting the mansion in red. They took his light, his angel, the only good thing in this world, away from him, and they will not leave with their lives. When there was no one left but him, he used the power of the black cat on himself, leaving nothing but a pail of ashes and the ring behind.
Summery
During the tour, they learn of the supposed curse of the Mansion. It is said that the master of the house left a piece of himself behind that still haunts these halls, cruped and twisted, no longer truly him, looking for his lady, and once she is found, she will not leave, and anyone in the way of it getting her will perish. Everything is fine during the tour. It is not until they are about to leave that things start to go wrong. The doors and windows to the outside will not open and can't be broken. No one's phone has service. Then they find someone dead in a pool of their blood. Marinette only knows of one person who could hopefully help her Uncle John. She may be Ladybug, but she has never dealt with something like this.
Notes
Marinette is Bridgette's reincarnation.
Félix Fathom is Felix Culpa's "reincarnation".
Felix Culpa, when he died, had a piece of his soul break off and was left behind, which later gave birth to the monster they are now facing. Because his soul was not whole, he could not enter the reincarnation cycle and be reborn normally. The Peacock miraculous was able to let him be reborn as Félix Fathom by supplementing his missing piece with magic.
Uncle John is John Constantine.
John gave Marinette a magical way to contact him in emergencies.
Mod Newsie hadn't originally planned to make a playlist for this year's Tag Team Tournament, but once she got in the mood to start listening to spooky music herself, she just couldn't resist. From there things spiraled into a collection long enough to be a prompt month in it's own right. So without further ado, please enjoy this playlist for 31 Days of spooky fun! These songs give you all the vibes of Halloween without explicitly naming the holiday, so you can listen all year round.
And hey, if any of these songs inspire you, you might just find that you'll have some perfect WIPs to add our TTT daily prompts to...

The relationship between Jason and Marinette is so soft.
They meet at a coffee shop, one of Tim's favorites, which Jason was talked into going one day. Tim said it was a quiet place to sit and work during his lunch breaks, and Jason wanted a new reading spot.
One day it was oddly busy, and a short young woman asked to sit with him. He said yes, planning on leaving if she was a bother, but she kept to herself, sipping her coffee and drawing in her sketchbook.
They kept running into each other there- sitting quietly together with Jason reading classics that Marinette would comment on every so often and recommending new reads to him, especially after finding out Jason was fluent in French.
Their silent coffee breaks turned into whispered debates about characterization and translation differences, then into dog park walks and movie nights with freshly baked goods and throwing popcorn at the screen when a new book discrepancy popped up and nights of laughter.
After a while, they fell into a weekly routine: Monday coffee dates, Wednesday dinners, Friday movie nights, and lazy Saturdays.
But Jason wouldn't always show up, and it was getting suspicious to Marinette- she had her fair share of secrets in her past, but moving to Gotham for university was a fresh start away from all the darkness of Hawkmoth and being a too-young superhero.
The coverd up injurys and excuses for called-off plans were getting too familiar to the ones she would use, and it unsettled her- she would have to talk to Jason.
She didn't know what the outcome would be: Jason being one of gothams illusive vigilanties or him cheating, but she would find out soon.
