The streets of Denerim were at once FAMILIAR and FOREIGN. He remembered the last time he’d been in this city--years and years ago, nearly a whole life-time. He’d been a different person then, and though he’d changed plenty, the city had not. The buildings were still squat and stone, with none of the elegance or grace he’d grown up around in Val Royeaux. Not a single thing was dipped in gold or sparkling in the sunlight--in fact, aside from the wares being sold, most everything was dull and covered in mud from the recent rains.
Duncan lazily scanned the crowd. On his journey here, he’d lost a few supplies due to a storm, and he was hoping to replace some of those belongings. The highest priority on his list was a warm cloak--the Ferelden winds cut through what he owned, and something made here should protect him from the elements. If only he could find the right stall.
oflaverna replied to your post “you can blame pretty much anything in da2 on varric's shitty...”

The notice near the entry door says, “A place for all in service here,” and she supposes that includes her despite her service being forced. Vezely did not come here to “rest, recoup, and preserve,” but to drink something hard enough to warm her core. After spending days in the dank dungeons of Skyhold, the Tevinter’s fingertips still felt numb and her spirit even colder. Of course, she was not expecting to find a good brandy or some vintage port wine in this establishment, but perhaps enough pints of (probably diluted) ale will do the trick. And so she focuses on obtaining just that, paying no heed to those who might recognize her from her sentencing a few days prior. The tankard in her hand is not even set on the far end of sparsely occupied side table until she notes another patron’s eyes upon her, piercing like razors. Better judgment tells her not to sit there, but at the moment she is sparse on caring and sits, taking a drink of the unsatisfying liquid shortly after.
“There was no place for me, so I had find one myself.”

Lithaldoren sighed quietly, letting the sound escape his lips as he shook his head. He would be lying to say there was no anger roaming his mind due to the circumstances there were in, but as they settled last time, there was a hole in the sky. They had much more to worry about.
“Hmph. And how did that work out, huh?.. Because all I see if a giant hole in the sky…”
A harsh groan managed to make its way up from his throat, he admittingly regretted the words he just spoke. They were certainly uncalled for. The city elf was just not exactly feeling himself..
“I- apologise. That was uncalled for.”
Doing
Doing: Three habits that they have.
Kaeyonari has a habit of putting his hands behind his back during a conversation; he only shows/uses his hands while arguing or having a tense interaction, which is a subconscious way to seem more threatening.
He often hums to himself, or sings to himself under his breath, typically Dalish lullabies he remembers from his childhood.
While going about the day Kaey will frequently put a hand over the weapon he’s carrying, a subconscious habit to ensure it is still there.
