Losers, all of them... he looked over the great hall with distain. 

It had been a long week. Exams... Quidditch... He was exhausted and needed a break. He had received his third letter from his father this year berating over some new failure he believed he had... he had enough. 

“What are you looking at?” he sneered at Goyle next to him. “Ill be in the common room.” he said abruptly, standing, and made his way out of the great hall.

James loves the way Natasha feels pressed against him, her head on his chest, her bare skin warm against his own. Lying in bed with Natasha was quickly becoming one of his favorite past times. He loves the way her hair fans out against his chest, breathing in the scent of her shampoo. He smiles as he buries his nose into her hair and closes his eyes as he sighs in content. James’ fingertips are caressing Natasha’s spine. It’s a perfect moment. 

“Let’s just stay here all day,” he murmurs.

Daphne had asked him to do this favor for her and Theo was always weak to say no to her. Astoria apparently had a cold and the way she had said it, it gave him some pause. It stopped him from scoffing and asking why she was so concerned over a cold. Either way, Daphne had begged him to check up on her sister since she was busy with...something that he couldn’t exactly remember at the moment. Either way, he found himself heading to the hospital wing instead of the dungeons after classes were over.

Madam Pomfrey had taken one look at him with confusion clear on her face, probably expecting an injured student or Daphne herself. Not an awkward looking Theodore Nott standing in the doorway. He made some awkward hand gestures before just pointing over at where Astoria was laying. It was enough for Madam Pomfrey to let him in to see her.

“Hey...” Theo murmured, letting his bag drop as he slowly settled in the seat next to the bed. This was probably only the third time he had spoken to the younger Greengrass sibling. Why did Daphne think he was suited for this job? “Daphne asked me to come visit you. She couldn’t. I know I probably don’t compare to your sister but...I have these.” He offered, fishing into his pockets for the toffees he had from Honeydukes. “I don’t even let Daphne have these so...don’t tell her about this.”

Rosalie was his daughter. Perhaps not by blood, but the daughter he’d never had naturally. He’d seen a lot of death in his life, but none had affected him they way Rosalie’s had. As much as he’d hoped for a mate for Edward (he was glad it hadn’t worked out that way), he’d wanted to save her after everything she’d been through. If it hadn’t been for turning her, they’d have never got Emmett either. Everything happened for a reason.  Though, things were slightly more complicated with the human Edward was currently enamoured with. “Are you alright Rose?”

“Two hundred? Damn.” He laughed, lightly staring at his own present which which not looking too good at the moment. “You know, I should be an expert at wrapping since my kid is a teenager now. But, I honestly was never very good at it.” He sighed, staring at what looked to be a monstrosity in front of him. “Maybe you should wrap my two hundred.” He joked.

❈ --- Eyes fluttered open as the feel of lips delicately peppering his face woke him. He chuckled sleepily as arms wrapped around the petite frame of his goddess and gazed up at her lovingly. “What I’ve done to deserve this is beyond me, but I’ll take it more than willingly.” Tilting his head up, he met her lips for a tender kiss.

Being treated like some errand boy for sure was getting tiring, and his patience was getting pushed to the very edge. On the other hand, stepping out of the line would equal facing up to serious if not lethal consequences. For now the idea of landing six feet under the ground didn’t sound too tempting. Well, the guy who got rubbed out tonight probably was quite like-minded in that case, but he didn’t have a say anymore. Instead he left him with busy hands and a body in the trunk — a living one.

Executing somebody once in a while fell within the scope of his duties. At this point he was doing it without batting an eyelid. After all, those lucky devils usually had something weighing on their conscience. There were also the cases of taking the wrong turn and ending up in a dark alley at not the best time and witnessing something you certainly shouldn’t.

Like tonight. But orders were orders and there was no room for sympathy or sudden heroism. That was the credo he was sticking to.

His hands resting on the steering wheel tensed up whenever he heard the muffled noise and shuffling coming from the back of the vehicle. Even turning up the radio didn’t help in blocking out the bothersome sound. He scoffed and slammed on the brakes, stopping in the middle of nowhere. The shed was still a couple of miles away. He stormed out of the car and walked over to the trunk to open the lid.

“Quiet as a mouse, aren’t you?” Looking down at the blonde, his stern expression was slightly toned down when a faint smile made its way onto his lips. “Come on, princess,” he said with an ironic tinge in his voice and reached his hand out to help her get out. “Don’t worry, the trip’s not over yet.”

I’m gonna be a little mushy here, ‘cause, well, I want to be a little mushy. I know that this is a preset message and all— but the thing is, there’s nothing preset about you sending me this. It means that somewhere along the lines, I did something that made you think of sending it to me (and others), and that is an incredibly sweet sentiment. And the reason I’m so mushy over something seemingly so simple, is because 2020 has already had me face one of the toughest tribulations that life could ever throw a person, and while time is already doing its part (and as long as I have my sense of humour, which I still very much do, I’ll be alright)— it does something to your heart, it makes you more susceptible to a person’s kind words, it warms your heart just that tad bit more and it just— it has you appreciate the beauty of people that much more. And so, while I may seem as if I’m ‘overreacting’ to this, know that I’m not. I truly appreciate and am so honoured when my name or my blog crosses people’s minds, from anything massive to even anything small. Hell, I usually find the small things to be the most significant.

All in all, what I’m saying is thank you, thank you for telling me that somehow I crossed your mind. I hope that you’re having an incredible day/night, regardless of the situation that we all find ourselves in on top of any potential struggles we may already be facing. I may not directly end up sending this to ten people’s askboxes, but I’ll tag at least ten people— because if they receive even 50% of the smile you gave me with this, then that’d be pretty awesome. The following are people that’re either very close to my heart, or people I admire immensely from up close or afar and as a whole, people who’ve made a difference, in one way or another:
