Narrator: you're on a - hang on, you're not even in the forest. where are we? what's happened? Voice of the Hero: here we go again. Narrator: you stand in silence to take in your surroundings for a moment before starting to walk. where, you don't know, but you don't seem very bothered by this change. you almost seem used to this as you walk down.. a moderately busy street with people stopping to gawk at you. they seem to think it's a costume, and many are trying to take photos of you, but you trudge onward. ..how you know what they're doing, or how you know they're using phones, who can say? but you do. Narrator: ...what do you mean again?

"They take in the sun to some degree. They require it for survival, yes. But not to the level your kind does." Her magenta eyes shifted to him, softening to a pale pink. There's a sadness in her heart for this poor creature.
She knows what it is like to be forced from your home. To end up in a strange environment. Granted hers was a long, cold slumber. Where her awareness was stunted. Consciousness a faded thing.
"Believe it or not, even the rocks and sand have use for the sunlight."
[ 20. ] sender invites receiver to dance with them, insisting, "what? this song's perfect." - lapen to sobek, to an old radio playing music?
a soft laugh escapes him, the soft lyrics of an old-timey song drifting around the bookstore like a swarm of butterflies trying to find a place in the sun. it warms him in the same way, too. like when he would bask on the sands beside the nile and take in ra's great light.
and then lapen is holding out out their hands to him, offering. what? this song's perfect?
it's not really his type of thing to listen to, but he'll be damned if he lets this moment get ruined. sobek pushes himself up from his seat, setting aside the book with a marker placed- just so he doesn't lose his place. his hands slide within lapen's, a grin of sharp teeth on his face.
"who am i to deny such a request?"
who did this to you? - Lapen to Sobek
The wound is superficial, to say the least. A simple black eye that can be hidden under the carpeting fringe of his hair with ease. It isn't the first time he's gotten into a scrap with his fellow god, and it won't be the last. But he doesn't harbor any ill will towards his kin.
Not unless he tries to start something with his followers.
The crocodile god huffs out a sound of amusement, watching the bookstore keeper from the corner of his eye- well, his good eye at least.
"Ah, it was just Set getting a little moody. We butt heads on something and he decided he wanted to swing a fist." He chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. "I won the fight in the end, so you don't have to fret over me."
❝ There’s such a sad love, deep in your eyes. ❞ - from Lapen

what an odd thing to hear from someone you don't even know. he shifted in place slightly, maybe even a bit uncomfortably. ...it was probably true, he knew - he had love for those he could never see again, after all - but was it really so obvious..?
"...I guess that just comes with thinking about those you've lost.. I'm sorry, am I in the way? I must have spaced out for a moment."
