mhmmm, the only reason i think ill like it is bc of the cinematography ya feel???
Lauren’s bottom lip was trembling, and Piper couldn’t quite place a finger on way, though she hoped that it wasn’t an aftershock of the anxiety attack. She wiped away a few stray tears with her thumb, humming a song lightly under her breath, not quite sure what it would do, but knowing that music had to tendency to bring forth a calming feeling from Lauren.
"P-Piper?"
"Yeah, Lauren?"
And with that, at an excruciatingly, Lauren pressed her trembling lips against the ones before her, her eyes fluttering closed at a pace that matched that butterflies that rose to life in Piper’s stomach as contact was felt. Lauren’s lips were soft, softer than any other boy’s she’s ever kissed, and Piper never felt she had to be as gentle before. Lauren’s fingers curled slightly tighter around Piper’s wrist before she pulled away, and it was in that instance, just as the kiss came to an end, did Piper realize that she didn’t want it to.
Juliette/Cormac: After he found out he got accepted into Princeton
A moment, a love, a dream, laugh, a kiss, a cry, our rights, our wrongs. ♪
The moment Cormac saw a package in his mailbox, he ran to his dorm and ripped it open. He had been waiting for colleges to come back to him for months, always holding his breath, though his mother insisted that he shouldn’t have. The return address was from Princeton, and Cormac couldn’t let his hope get the best of him as he teared the package to pieces. It was the good kind, too - the thick, manila enveloped almost always ensured that you were accepted, because it came with welcome packages and maps of the campus and everything that you needed. His father had taught him that. But even though he had already let his imagination run wild. and even though he was already almost completely sure of what the letter was to say, a wide grin still spread over Cormac’s face as his hands finally got to the acceptance letter.
As someone normally so dignified, seeing the childlike appearance of Cormac Hamilton in that moment was definitely a sight to see. Which meant, of course, that Juliette Faucheux was there to see it, because when wasn’t she there to see Cormac make a fool of himself? (In all actuality, Juliette was visiting Cormac because…well, just because. She stopped by so often, Cormac had given up on questioning at that point, and just let her in).The smirk on her lips screamed both a feeling of amusement and judgement coming from the brunette, as it so often did. “What are you doing, Cormacklemore?” she said, trying her best to keep the laughter out of her voice. (That was a lie in its’ entirety, of course. Juliette made no attempt to hide how entertained she was by her best friend’s lack of decorum).
Cormac ignored her, his grin still in place. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he quite literally swooped the girl off of her feet, barely resisting the urge to spin her around the room. It was the only time one would have seen him so jovial. And maybe it was because of this, because of the fact that he was on such a high that he wasn’t quite in touch with himself, or maybe because Juliette was just there smiling like an idiot and shaking her head - maybe that was why he kissed her. It was a grand kiss, with his arm still around her waist and another hand entangled in her hair, and it seemed like centuries before he pulled away. His face was flushed, but the smile remained the same. “Good seeing you, Faucheux,” he said, flashing her a smile before walking out the door, his envelope still in his hand.
Sam/Mallory: After she plays him her mother’s piece for the first time.
I’m falling for your eyes, but they don’t know me yet. ♪
She practically dragged him to the music room, and for the first time, Sam saw the eagerness and excitement that pulled on Mallory Milton shine through. Granted, he says the first time, despite the fact they haven’t been talking for very long, but all that he couldn’t help but feel she tried her best to be reserved and proper. Her words were polite and her tone soft and airy, and she resembled more of a china doll than a teenager, with her baby blue dress and her back straight as she sat. Though the colour that had rose to her cheeks certainly didn’t help the mental image, there was a certain roughness around the edges that put it to bed. Her hair had flyaways in every direction, her smile a bit too large (though nonetheless intoxicatingly genuine), and her grip around his wrist was deathly. He liked that better, though. She felt more real that way.
She sat down at the piano bench, which was when she finally released his wrist and left him to rub it in an attempt to ease the pain. Sam sat down a few feet away from her, leaning forward with his eyes glued intently on her. After taking a deep breath, she pressed her fingers to the keys. Every note felt loud and clear, and Sam’s eyes widened. It was obvious she had put her entire life and soul into this piece every time she played it, and even more obvious that she played it often. It was beautiful, and the more he watched her play, the more he realized that she was beautiful, too.
She turned to him the moment the piece was done, and this time her eyes were wide and childlike, filled with hope and wonder and a sort of spark that Sam couldn’t quite place. “So?” she said, her voice sort of breathy, “What did you think?” And her need to please him then was so obvious, and her eyes were so bright, and she looked so kissable in that moment, that kiss her was exactly what Sam did.
Chase/Lottie: Completely and utterly by accident (almost).
I don’t love you, I just thought you were cute, that’s why I kissed you. ♪
It was always during a game of 7 Minutes in Heaven, Lottie noticed, did she have to kiss the last person she expected to, though she supposed that was kind of the whole point of the game. So when Chase pulled her name out of the bowl, she didn’t even question it, just rolled her eyes and made the light protest everyone expected of her before getting up and shuffling her feet to the bathroom. It was all a show, of course. Not that Chase would be her preferred person to kiss - better than someone gross and creepy, but she knew that if she admitted he was good he’d hold it over her forever, and if she said he was bad he’d say that she were lying and that she was only saying that to deny her true feelings for him - but he wasn’t bad. Plus, she can’t say she’d never wanted to know what his lips tasted like - in a completely platonic, non-feelings based way, of course.
Chases’ confident air falter as he slipped in through the door, though it might have been just a trick of the light because the next time Lottie looked over, his trademark smirk was fastened firmly in place. He sat down next to her on the rim of the bathtub, and opened his mouth to speak but ended up gulping instead, his Adam’s apple bobbing wildly. Lottie cocked an eyebrow in return. He tried again, but once more no words came out as Lottie took the opportunity to slot her lips into his. It took him by surprise, obviously, but not enough to keep him from cupping her face with both her hands and parting her lips with his tongue. She let out a soft moan at that, and she could feel his cocky grin press against her lips. Fucker.
—
Letting his friends convince him to rig 7 Minutes in Heaven was a bad idea. He and Lottie were just friends, of course, but all his friends were teasing him about the two of them being an item, and he couldn’t help but wonder if she was a good kisser or not because obviously, it was Lottie and you’d have to be blind to not notice how attractive she was, and he didn’t want that awkward 7 Minutes in Heaven when you’re with someone you really don’t want to kiss, so he did it. And with Lottie’s lips pressed against his and her hands running through his hair, and his arm wrapped around her waist pulling her as close as humanly possible, he couldn’t find himself regrettng it.
