Erik frowned, the slightest bit angry at himself. He could do it, he knew that he could. He’d done, essentially, the same thing before. It didn’t matter that the bed was bigger than the other random bits of metal he had managed to move or distort. If he could just concentrate, he could do it. Of course, that concentration was broken by Charles’ words. Not that he really minded, of course. He never really minded talking to his roommate. ❝I… What? How… how would that help?❞ It wasn’t that he didn’t want to hold hands, of course, but simply that he failed to see the purpose behind it at the moment. Perhaps another time would have been better.
Charles immediately felt bad for breaking Erik's concentration. He should have just let his friend keep practicing, but he only wanted to help. He flushed at Erik's words and he wondered if that was because he wanted to hold Erik's hand. Friends held hands, right? There was no reason for him to blush about it. "Oh, I just..." Charles trailed off, looking to Erik. "It's just my powers improve with skin contact," he admitted truthfully. "That's why I do this," he paused to press two fingers to his left temple before shrugging a little. "I was wondering if it might help yours too. If we could...hold hands...just to try?"
