k. haven't been on charles in a good two weeks & i apologise. i always use the excuse of school being a pain but in reality, i've been dealing with some gritty stuff for the past few months & it's been bringing me down. i'm sorry i'm not nearly as present as i could be, & i'll try to whip myself together so that i can actually make this blog what it used to be. i've missed you all, make no mistake about that.

he’s sneaking up on the older, pen in hand. the utensil appeared to be disfigured, like it had been taken apart, & that was very much true. the blue ink dripped onto the boy’s shirt sleeve. & in the famous words of a drunk pasha acar.

his small hand starts to shake up & down, ink flying onto the paper charles was working on & into his dark hair.
it’s with a slight uncertainty, which goes unvoiced, that he allows the young man to approach. after all, it’s not incredibly difficult for charles to sense the nearing presence. he offers the courtesy of not seeking the purpose of mutt’s visit, however, too consumed in the words slowly coming together on the paper before him; there have been many attempts prior to this to get the paper to look just right, & he’s certainly proud of the progress he’s made on the thesis presently.
the sudden splatters of something wet that follow a loud declaration by a boy startles charles & he watches as ink bleeds together in unruly splotches to form a dark ensemble on once pristine sheets of white ( the few drops that land in his hair are the least of his worries ). charles xavier is a patient man, which explains why he doesn’t yell, necessarily, but he’s not so ignorant & self destructive as to let this pass.

poignant emotion has wrought up from the heavy clay where he has laid both his dead and his sen- -timent to rest——but, it has been proven, in spite of his resilience, in spite of his stone-solid skin, some of it always seeps and clouds up in his chest like the aftermath of an atom bomb. he still feels, fiercely, and he still regrets, and sometimes, sometimes, he still weeps.
erik lifts a tentative hand and raps his knuckles on the door.
it’s been a long while since everything has unfolded & settled down; even the event of his return to the school seems so far gone. it’s in simple moments such as these that charles finds himself unable to justify his deep-seated resentment of the events that nearly everyone, it seems, had been involved in, considering how greatly privileged it made him seem regardless of the large stigma surrounding everything he had previously.
his inability to foresee a simple visit prior to any indication ( which he is incapable of without his abilities, now ) furthered his beliefs of his own incompetence, minute as the details may be in significance. it takes him a while to get to the door, a lack of will hindering him, mostly, in his hazy state of post-inappreciable-trauma. a single glance is offered & upon seeing erik’s tall frame, his brows furrow.
