even though jacob always wanted to be a musician, he promised himself he would never be the “bring a guitar to the house party and play white people songs to keep everyone entertained” guy. his music was for him, it was an outlet for the feelings he experienced, not a show for anyone else. not at this point, anyway. that’s when he met the most intense crush he’s ever had, and started pouring all of his feelings about them into his music. eventually, they started dating, and jacob started playing his music for them. he absolutely melted around them, but he would never let anyone else see that side of him, no matter how badly they wanted him to share his music with the world. the two of them would often discuss life in messy kitchens over too-sweet over-floured cupcakes, among other terrible desserts.
