The first draft of chapter 7 is now playable! I know it's already a couple of days late, but there's still quite a bit of branching and small changes in this chapter that I haven't had time to test yet. So please send any bugs you find and I'll do a patch in about a week or so when I've had more time to go over everything

Chapter 6 added to demo! | March 22nd, 2022

Hi, everyone! I've (FINALLY) finished writing the first draft for chapter 6 and it is now playable! Thanks so much to everyone who has sent kind words and been patient while I took a break to regroup. I'm in a much better place for writing now and hope to get back to a regular update schedule.

Also, I broke the saves so you'll all have to start over... sorry! But it's been a long time since the last update, so it hopefully won't be too much of a slog to get through.

After a strange encounter, you start to have disturbing dreams and cannot shake the feeling that something is watching you. Plus, that stupid bird won’t leave you alone. How fortunate that the Ornithological Fellowship of North America is here to help, and they only require a few drops of blood.

It’s probably not a cult… right?

Gain psychic gifts, choose a familiar, and get to the bottom of your family history as you are inducted (willingly or not) into a secret society that may be more than it claims. Forge bonds and romances with other OFNA members, but remember that everyone has their secrets. Can you really trust anyone?

Features:

Customizable MC, including gender, sexuality, their familiar, and what gift they have

Learn about your mother’s disappearance, OFNA secrets, and how to control your newfound gifts

Control your attitude about joining OFNA (accepting vs resistant)

Five ROs available to all players (more info on them here). This will be a relatively large element, but there will be strictly platonic options for each

Chapter 5 added to demo! | May 10th, 2021 🎉

Hi, bird people. A few hours late, but I’ve added the first draft for chapter 5 to the demo! It's a pretty short one, but we've finally gotten through the first "act" of the story. We're in it now, whether your initiate likes it or not! I hope you all enjoy the new chapter, but quick reminder that any save files are broken because I added additional variables.

Mini Update - June 4th, 2021

Hi everyone! The last fixes for chapter five have been posted. I've already moved onto chapter six and am hoping to get that out late this month or early in July! I put this update off for a while because I was mulling over chapter headers, but I couldn't land on something I was happy with so I'm tabling it for now.

A big thanks to everyone who filled out the chapter five survey! And, to the three of you who were less than 10% accepting and still said, "Stat isn't resistant enough," I love your energy ✊

I have edited the demo on dashingdon to update the current chapters with a few changes:

B's surname has changed from Cabot to Cabott, thanks to Konoi on the forums for pointing out the weird translation <3

Changed the label on the "Attitude" stat to "Instinct" Do I like this better??? Unclear, we will see if I end up changing it back

A lot of grammar & spelling fixes

Tweaked some stats to a better (?) place

Switched up some dialogue a little

In certain routes, slightly longer chapter 5 conversation with B

Mini Update -  Feb 18th, 2021

Hi everyone! So good news and bad news... Good news: I edited the current chapters to fix typos, continuity issues, and added additional options in certain places (especially for your resistant MCs, I’m trying guys!) Bad news: Broke everyone’s save files. Long story short, I decided that I needed a better way to track secrets and who knows what going forward. So sorry, but also this may happen a few more times! Very much a WIP over here.

I have edited the demo on dashingdon to update the current chapters with a few changes. Let me know if you find any new mistakes!

Can manually set gender of Simon/Simone and Bea/Beau before the story starts (or just let the game do it automatically like before)

A lot of grammatical/typo fixes

Certain stats adjusted to be more balanced and reflective of choices

Some additional choices/flavor text for resistant MCs

Longer “hostile” dialogue choice with Greystone

At this point, I am going to table more changes to chapter 1 through 4 in the demo. I know some people are not totally happy with current options to resist OFNA, but I want to keep my forward momentum going and continue on in the story. I promise I have a lengthy list of sections I need to go back to before I put the beta out. I am not ignoring your feedback and I really appreciate all the help <3

Mini Update -  Jan 7th, 2021

Hi everyone! I want to thank you again for all your interest in and support for my game. I'm absolutely floored by it and I hope you like what's to come in the story!

I have edited the demo on dashingdon to update the current chapters with a few changes. These include:

New scene (~500 words) added to the middle of chapter 3, gives more background on MC and Drew's relationship and helps w/ pacing

Added option to willingly go to OFNA with the intent to learn more before deciding anything

Added option to input MC's hair color if you choose 'dyed hair' in the hair color selection choice

Additional choices/reactions in some places

Messed around with some stats to balance them better

By popular request, there is now exactly one path and stat check where you can successfully punch Elliot. Have fun!

Also, there has been some interest in nicknaming your familiar. I have added a variable for it to the startup file (among some other ones) and will implement this in a future chapter. I *think* this means you need to redo any save files? (I'm not actually sure how dashingdon's save system works...)

At this point, I am probably not going to make any more additions to chapters 1 through 3 in the public version of the demo. I want to get back to where I was in chapter 4 and (hopefully) get that out in February!
