Tommy wasn’t likely to admit it to anyone but the truth was he only really cared about finding one person here, and he could only wait around so long and wait for her to end up crossing paths with him, so he took off. Sure, he could have told the avengers who he was and gotten an answer from them, or at least waited for Billy. But it would just be easier this way; Billy was so slow surely Tommy would find Wanda first, and the avengers didn’t seem to know who he was and trusting random authority wasn’t exactly his style. He’d been running around the streets of New York for what felt like forever, but when Tommy really focused every single second could feel like forever. And as he zoomed past the other people crowding the sidewalks Tommy truly was focused, taking in every face he passed. He may have underestimated the difficulty of searching for just one person in a city of millions, but he wasn’t going to let that stop him. It was then that he saw her across the street from him. Tommy stopped dead in his tracks ever so briefly before dashing over, lucky for him that his speed also made dodging the cars blocking the way a breeze, they probably never even would have known he was there. He came to a stop in front of her, and as he stood there he realized he didn’t actually plan what he was going to do when he found Wanda and so he just stood there for what felt like yet another eternity feeling really very stupid, before he simply blurted out the only words the came to mind, “Hi, Mom.” Excellent, Tommy sarcastically thought to himself, definitely very subtle and not weird at all.
