“s-something happy, yeah definitely.” there was a voice in his mind telling him to be cool, but how could he manage that when he nearly got past the initial introductions earlier that day? the whole jam mess felt like a nightmare that he wished was something that he could wake up from, not remember as a moment that actually took place. “uh..it’s a nice night. it’s good for..watching the stars. you know, if you like that kind of thing.” that went better than he thought it would, alas he was still an insecure mess which had to show in his voice. why couldn’t he wish for self confidence as well as being a prince?

“is that what you think, princess? clearly you know me so well then.” as iago spoke his response, jafar turned to jasmine with a sarcastic tone in his voice. “if you were like me, this entire land would go down in ruins far quicker than it already is. as for whether i think you’re weak or not, you certainly haven’t given me much reason to think otherwise. perhaps one day i can view you differently, but i don’t think it’s today.”

“Trouble? Me?” He winked at Jasmine, knowing he’d already used his line about not getting caught too many times recently. And it was true- he HADN’T been caught any of these past times he left the palace. “You know how hard it is for me to stay in here. I’m just… going for a walk. For old times’ sake. Nothing will happen.“ 

It had been more difficult than Aladdin had thought to adjust to this new life but he was finally able to walk the streets of Agrabah without feeling like he was missing out by not stealing. There would be no trouble tonight.
