“okay, i brought an actual stake ‘cause i figured i can trust you not to murder me and also because our other options were a banana or seth’s burner phone and neither of them would mimic it well enough.” richie explained, leading the way towards the mats of the old gym he’d gotten them into. a little conversation with the owner had gotten him the place shut down for a couple of hours so they’d have a safer place to train. he took things seriously, sometimes to a degree that was a little ridiculous, but being free of the confines of their current motel room appealed to him as much as some alone time with kate did. he was in an outfit he usually wasn’t caught in, a pair of grey sweatpants and black t-shirt from the few he rotated through for sleep when it got cold. no shoes, though. his loafers didn’t really go with gym clothes. “so, y’know, let’s see where you’re at.” he decided, taking his glasses off and putting them down on a nearby table before he settled himself at the corner of one mat and then he was throwing the stake in her general direction. “what would you do right now, if you were trying to kill me? come show me.” he motioned for her to with his hand.
