they haven’t seen each other in awhile &  then  some.     axel knows that kairi has been  pouring  herself  heart  &  soul  into finding sora,  so he hadn’t wanted to disturb her ...     but upon being informed by ienzo that she’d woken up,  he had immediately made for radiant garden to see her,  telling roxas & xion to pay attention to isa in the meantime.

his eyes are sharper than before thanks to the application of some black liner,  something that he hasn’t done since he was a  NOBODY.     also hearkening back to those days are the dark purple tattoos beneath his eyes,  something that she probably hasn’t seen on him since ... well.     since he was kidnapping her ... so long ago ...

he offers her his leather   gloved hand to help her out of the chair.     “  it’s good to see you again,  kiddo.     have a nice rest?  ”

vanitas puts up a damn good front.     he really does.     it’s just so  hard  when he’s as worn out as he is from  EXISTING,   & doing it as far away from ventus as he is.     xehanort had once likened him & the windy wielder to having a ... parasitic  relationship,  &  THAT  had not been received well.     still,  beguiling the redhead from his place in the shadows beside radiant garden’s castle,  vanitas lets himself hone in on her uncertainties &  breathe  them  in.     perhaps that will be enough to sustain him in lieu of the emotional openness of his lighter half,  whom he has been explicitly  FORBIDDEN  from seeing ... by  himself.

⌜☬⌟ ➡ Why was he always given the missions that ultimately suck for him. Now he was tasked with finding the red headed princess and honestly that sounded like a pain. Annoyed sigh parted lips as he raised his hand and held it before him. "Might as well get this over with..." A Corridor of Darkness appeared before him. Stepping into its cooling and welcoming expanse he breathed deeply, enjoying how the Darkness covered his body and cooled what the Light had heated up.

      It was easier to detect Pure Lights while in the Realm of Darkness, just something about how they seemed to shine like a beacon. It took a few tries as there where other sources but when he did find her she was in a forest area. That made it easier for what he needed to do next, he waited till he was certain no one was around to make his appearance. Moving to lean against the trees trunk a small laugh brushed past lips, enough to grab her attention.

      "Its useless to resist. Now give up and come with me." came biting laughter as he stared at the girl. He held out his hand, mask only reflecting her image as he held out his hand to her.

“It was a big deal. I didn’t know what it meant, if it was a joke or he actually liked me and I guess it didn’t really click that he could like me back.” Sora rubbed his nose, trying to hide the blush that spread across his face. “I couldn’t breathe.”

A pause in his footsteps. His heart sinking to the floor. Why did it always have to be Kairi’s heart to suffer when he had to go off and do something stupidly heroic. It wasn’t fair and Sora knew it.

He opened his arms, asking for a hug. “Awh, Kairi. You won’t even notice i’m gone. I’ll be a day... two days tops.”

Though knowing how his missions for Master Yen Sid usually went, he was most likely wrong.

“hmm..” It would be the more reasonable choice but he also couldn’t force people if they didn’t want too. Others probably would have more luck trying to tell her otherwise. As much as he cares about other people’s well being it also only goes so far for those he bearly knows.

“You should still see a doctor, just to be safe” he wouldn’t force her still but this was still a better choice than the hospital.
