location: timur's private residence
time: nighttime
for: @ofsvnshine / timur
he should be able to gain access to timur's private area due to a longstanding letter which grants him permission to see him whenever he is in port. he had to argue with the high lord's guards due to the fact that the letter specified the night court and he is now, in fact, located in the capital. "i promise you, i understand what the letter says - look at how creased the damned thing is, you'll see that it's been opened, closed, open, closed countless times. your greasy fingers aren't the first ones to open the letter and last i knew - the high lord is still alive and well."
perhaps not the best thing to say considering the way the previous high lord ended his reign, but vex has never been someone who could mind his tongue and always spoke whatever popped into his mind. people say that it takes time to get used to the sway and roll of a ship, the dipping horizon and how nothing in the world seems to be still -- but for him, he's uncomfortable on land. he wishes that he were still on the terror - he does his best work for the high lord when he is at sea hunting.
"look." he sighs. "would you please tell him that captain vexfell is here to make a report? i swear, on my honor as a captain, that i am here for only good things." he is careful in how he phrases his words, and yet - he still speaks the truth. he always does, as if all the truths he gives will somehow make up for all the lies his father told. he looks over the guard's shoulder and gives a sharp, trilling whistle - the same one he had used when he was young and wanted timur to look away from his book for a minute -- just so the high lord knows who is waiting for him.
