He knows that he has to do this; welcoming foreign nations is just part of his life, part of all of their lives, and something they must get used to. Or rather, that he must get used to. Since the death of his father he’s become the man of the palace house, and apparently welcoming foreign dignities in in the job description.

But meeting the family of the opposing nation? Now that’s not something he’s comfortable with. This odd kind of peace meeting they seem to be having some time after the war between their nations officially ended... it doesn’t settle well for him. But he puts a brave face on it, of course.
