My character actually appeared in the Harry Potter version. HFA, I think it was.

I wonder if the PPC is still a thing? Not the original, of course, I'm sure that ended ages ago. But I wonder if it's still going in other fandoms?

I dunno, I was just feeling some fandom nostalgia.

Forgive me if I seem rude, I've read OFUM and I was wondering how come you don't write anymore Lord of The Rings OFUMs anymore, you know, with the two new Hobbit movies that came out and everything? I wish you did, with The Hobbit characters, including the made up ones for the movies, it would have been hilarious. Really love OFUM, as you can probably tell.

Well, the thing is - I wrote OFUM over a decade ago. I was in University then and in LotR fandom, so I was familiar with fandom trends and university life. It definitely helped when writing it. I also had a lot more spare time to actually write in.Nowadays I work fulltime, I’m not really in the Hobbit fandom (have seen the movies, but they didn’t make me want to get involved in fandom) and I have other fannish interests (OUAT mostly).I thought about writing one when the first movie came out, but…  I don’t really have the inclination or the time to write something like OFUM again, and given that I’ve changed over the years, I’d probably write it differently now if I had the inclination. It might not work as well as it did back then. I know nothing else I write will ever top OFUM in terms of popularity, but I don’t want to write something just for attention. That would make for a bad fic, quite honestly. .Anyway, thanks for enjoying the original two and sorry I can’t give you a better answer.

Did you write OFUM? Because that is one of my favorite stories (books and fanfics combined), and I literally read it like once a month.

Why hasn't OFUM 2 been updated in years? :(

Oh, a number of reasons, anon. I think the main one is probably that the computer with all the notes and plans and students forms and so on died on me completely and the data was lost. Recreating it felt like such a mammoth task and I was so tired. Then there were some rather serious real life issues, and the fact that I was a bit tired of writing it and I also got into a new fandom some time later. So, there were a number of reasons. I'm sorry about it for those who were attached to that story, but that's how it is.
